Description

Description

The Power Road is Michelin's latest top class road bike tyre. In many respects the Power Road has been improved over the outbound tyres. For example, the Power Road has been developed to perform optimally in almost all typical cycling conditions, including rain. This does not mean that the Power Road is a reasonable all-round road bike tyre and only performs average on all fronts. Michelin positions this tyre among the best road bike tyres of the competition and this is also reflected in the characteristics and performance of the Power Road. The goal: the best all-round road bike tyre!

X-Race Compound
The X-Race Compound is a silicone based rubber compound developed in collaboration with the French cycling team Cofidis. This compound provides better rolling resistance and durability without compromising grip. In addition, the tread profile has been optimised for cornering and the sidewalls have been made more robust and stable thanks to the flexible carcass of three times 120 tpi. As a result, you can take corners safely and confidently. On top of all this, Michelin claims that the compound continues to perform well on all surfaces, whether the road surface is dry or wet.

Aramid Protek+
The Michelin Power Road is equipped with a widened Aramid Protek+ puncture protection. This layer protects the tyre better against punctures without having a significant impact on rolling resistance. The weight of the Power Road is very low (235 grams for 25 mm and 255 grams for 28 mm). This, in combination with the X-Race Compound, strikes the right balance between puncture resistance, grip and speed. This combination of properties makes the Power Road a very durable tyre. So you can continue to ride on these tyres for a long time, even when conditions get worse. The Power Road also has a Tread Wear Indicator (TWI). With this indicator you can keep a close eye on when performance will decrease because the tread is worn out. Fortunately this is only after a very long time.

Easy assembly
Because the wire in the bead of the outer tyre is made of sturdy and flexible aramide fibres, mounting on the wheel is relatively easy, despite the robust sidewalls. The aramid bead also allows the tyre to fit better in the rim, improving stability when cornering.

In short, the Michelin Power Road is an excellent all-round road bike tyre with top-class performance and characteristics!
