Description
The DT Swiss ERC 1400 Spline 47 DB wheels are ideally suited to bad roads, cobblestones or plain long rides. This wheelset is also ideal for heavier cyclists who like to throw their weight around. The wheelset was developed in cooperation with Swiss Side, which played a role in achieving optimal aerodynamics. The result is a wheelset with very good steering characteristics and maximum speed.
Technology
DT Swiss 240 hubsA hub of Swiss precision, production and assembly. DT Swiss has turned the 240 into what it is now: a legend with clever and high quality detail solutions. With the latest refinements and sealing, the 240 hubs are extremely light and extremely durable. The ratchet system engages quickly, which ensures that you are up and running quickly after a turn. The 240 hubs contain bearings with higher tolerances than the 350 hubs. In other words, even more precision in manufacturing means even better running bearings with lower resistance.
Pro Lock Technology
Pro Lock is a process whereby a patented 2-component adhesive liquid is injected into the nipple thread, allowing for extremely durable wheel constructions. By turning the nipple on the spoke, the adhesive is activated and begins to harden. The wheel can still be adjusted after the glue has fully hardened, with only a minimal loss of locking function. As a result, your wheels maintain much better spoke tension for longer. This extends durability and proper spoke tension by up to 20 times compared to wheels without Pro Lock nipples.
Tubeless ready
These wheels feature a tubeless ready rim that allows for the use of tubeless tyres and latex. This set-up minimises punctures. Should a puncture occur, the latex will fill the gap within seconds. Other advantages of riding tubeless are lower rolling resistance, more comfort and better grip. Of course, it is still possible to fit your old-fashioned folding tyres with inner tubes.

Optics and stiffness top.
Very nice wheel. I really like the spline hubs. Unfortunately, the wheel is not available with a 60mm high profile. If you want a higher profile you have to take a wheel with Dicut hubs. The stability of the wheel is also very good. Perfect for my gravel bike with road bike tyres. It is also very good that an XDR freewheel is included with the rear wheel.
Pros & Cons
5 / 5
Super happy
The Good: My bike immediately feels more agile. After a slightly more thorough test, I also notice clearly than my speeds are higher than before. I'm back achieving speeds that were ago from mid-summer. Additionally, the deep wheels also help to improve the look of the bike compared to the standard wheels. For me, this more professional look gives cycling even more of an occasional feel and but the riding (and photos along the way) better and more enjoyable. The Bad: These wheels are expensive. You have to be sure you really want these. Another drawback especially for lighter riders is that a sudden crosswind can give you a strong push.
