Indoor cycling is no longer boring with this Tacx

- Radboud, 7 October, 2023

Well advised by Mantel Utrecht. Scepticism about indoor training quickly disappeared. This Tacx is a good addition to outdoor cycling. Very nice to be able to cycle all the beautiful colls in the world with the Taxc app. No animation images is however say. The motionplates I was sceptical about but make the cycling motion more fluid. Was included with action pack NEO 2T though a lot of money for a piece of moving plastic. Would also have liked to be able to use multiple accounts on Taxc app.

Pros & Cons

good cycling experience
plug & play
quiet
no cassette for the price
No multiple accounts possible on 1 Tacx subscription

Very expensive, but meets expectations.

Super quiet exercise bike that lives up to all expectations. The motion plates are a nice addition to give it all just a little something extra, just not made for a good sprint.

Pros & Cons

Easy installation
Motion plates
Silent
Motion plates when sprinting
Pricey
Sram XD-R body not included as standard

Never train with a "light" again.....

- Hans, 13 December, 2021

This is my 4th ( yes fourth) TACX trainer in over 10 years. I started with software TTS3 and TTS4 from Tacx with lots of expensive DVDs, lots of startup problems problems. Now we ride with 'n app and cycling "in the cloud" and that is quite an improvement. Zwift, Tacx, Kinomap, Rouvy, Bkool, VeloReality and more are the platforms where you can go to build fitness in a safe way.

Pros & Cons

Easy install.
No more "slipping."
No noise
Not really cheap

Highly recommended for enthusiasts.

Installed the Tacx cycletrainer Neo 2T Smart T2875 in the attic on a wooden floor. In my case, a Shimano 10 speed cassette required a 2nd ring (supplied with the cassette) and the derailleur had to be adjusted. Tacx supplies 1 ring as standard. Because of that loft floor it is not recommended to e.g. ride a gravel tour with a high bike feel setting because of the noise and banging. Further a pity that e.g. you cannot ride your own saved tour rides based on gpx files without purchasing a paid Premium subscription. Other than that, the trainer with the Desktop app is satisfactory, but that's okay for that price. The video HD experience on a large screen TV of the training rides offered with the training data including live L/R pedal stroke analysis is impressive. There is also a data link to Garmin Connect. Is pricey but no regrets about the purchase.

Pros & Cons

Comprehensive Desktop App (with sparring option)
Easy setup
Garmin Connect interaction.
High-end bike trainer with various training options.
Silent (cycling feel off)
2nd extra ring for the 10speed cassette.
Premium subscription required for private gpx rides.

Quite realistic

- Jeroen, 18 November, 2020

Very good smarttrainer that gives a very realistic cycling experience. Fan is necessary because of the heat. Point of attention is placing a road bike with brake discs on the trainer. Does not fit without the calipers hitting the trainer. But this will differ per bike.

Pros & Cons

Many adjustment possibilities
Quiet
Realistic
Comptability with brake discs
Pricey

Nice direct drive trainer, easily installed and with the ant+dongel immediately paired fine.

- Tim, 6 October, 2020

One of the biggest advantages of the neot2 is that the trainer moves slightly on the foot it stands on. This ensures that you don't wiggle the frame of your bike when you apply force. I think this is an important difference compared to other trainers. Standing feels good, but obviously not as natural as being outside. The road-feel feature is nice though (gravel or planks) you can really feel a bit. But this is just a nice feature, and definitely not a must. Nicely quiet, you can hear the rattle of your chain and derailleur more than the trainer itself.

Pros & Cons

Good connection with ant+dongle
Movable foot
Silent
Expensive, that's the only thing
