Sustainability fat flop.

- Andres, 9 December, 2021

After about 4 months, the freehub body started jamming. Now 2 months later, the freehub body no longer rotates opposite the axle. The wheels have never been hosed down with water, but I do ride in the rain. The front wheel on the other hand is perfect it rolls smoothly and can withstand rain.

A successful entry into the Campagnolo range.

- Stanisla, 27 July, 2021

Very nice Campagnolo wheels. Not the lightest but very good for my touring/light touring use. Very well packaged for delivery (better than my Shimano R501) Fitted MICHE 8 Speed cassettes without a hitch (added a spacer of a few mm) I recommend these wheels and MANTEL who delivered very quickly. Once again, excellent value for money. Mine have Campagnolo hubs.

Excellent value for money for Campagnolo

- Stan, 21 July, 2021

The rims I received were very well packaged compared to my Shimano R501 rims. In terms of weight, they're not the lightest, but for the price, it's hard to beat a Campagnolo freewheel. Aesthetically, there's better but it's not what I expect from bicycle wheels. The strong point is the sealed ball bearings. They're fluid and can handle heavy cyclists (over 80kg). My only regret is that they're only available in 622x17c. Personally, I'd have been happy with 622x15s. So far, nothing more to say. To be continued...

- Hans, 29 January, 2021

My Campagnolo Vento rims failed after 7 years, cracks at the spokes etc. So hence looked at a good replacement. I ordered the Calima on Wednesday and on Thursday they were in. Many an online shop could take an example from this, excellent service. We'll see how long these last.

Fantastic budget wheels for my winter trainer

- Adam, 13 November, 2020

Bought to replace old wheels (Vuelta Crosser 700C) on my winter trainer. Located at Mantel for a budget price with Campag compatible freehub for a 9spd cassette (very difficult to find in UK). Wheels are not super lightweight, but sturdy, well built and supplied with q/r levers and spacers. Ordering was simple and delivery was quicker than expected. Mantel provided regular updates and excellent customer service.

- Marco, 15 October, 2020

Ideal winter training wheels that are very good value for money. I have covered 700 km.. The G3 spoking together with 25 clinchers give a lot of security, comfort and seem stiffer. The weight is a hair more than the Aksiums by 44gr. but they are better in my opinion. They are also essential in design and finish.

Great value budget wheelset

- Michael, 17 June, 2020

After about 250 miles of riding, I am very pleased with this wheelset. Above all, I wanted something inexpensive yet reliable for a training bike, and decided to try out Campagnolo's offerings rather than my usual choice of Mavic or Fulcrum. Straight out of the box, the wheels were perfectly true and aesthetically very nice. On the road, I was pleasantly surprised by how well they rolled for a budget wheelset, and the rear hub has a very satisfying sound (not too loud, though probably not ideal for holding wheels without being noticed, if that's what you prefer). Sealed bearings are a great bonus, as is a slightly wider rim profile to accommodate bigger tyres more easily (though I am running 23s with no problems). This category of wheel is never particularly light, though they weigh very slightly less than other wheels at a similar price point. Only minor downsides are that the rims aren't eyeleted and the QRs feel slightly cheap. If they serve me well for the rest of their lifespan, I would definitely go Campag again. 10/10 for Mantel's service.

These are very good value wheels.

- Ross, 21 March, 2020

Theses wheels have improved since my previous purchase with the sharp edges now smooth. For just over a £100 a set they are great value wheels that work really well with my carbon bike. They also come with a cassette spacer if you are fitting nine or ten speed cassettes. They run quietly and true.

Pros & Cons

- Brian, 7 February, 2019

Bought for my winter bike. No disappointments so far. For a little over £100 you can't expect £1000 performance. Original wheels on my Giant were campagnolo Vento which lasted for years . These Calimas are very similar.

Excellent value

- Colin, 17 January, 2019

Bought these for my winter bike after campag have seemingly bumped the price significantly for the khamsins. Really impressed for the price, weight is about what i would expect but they feel plenty stiff enough even for a fairly hefty bloke, they roll well and feel like they should serve me well for the next few winters. Excellent value for money, really no complaints at this price

Pros & Cons
