According to the product specialist
Pros
This wheel set is the best available choice among aluminium wheels with its extremely low weight of 1493 grams and its excellent DT240S hubs. |
The PR 1400 DICUT 21 OXiC wheels have gorgeous features such as the all black brake tracks and diamond shaped hubs. |
The ceramic OXiC brake track increases brake performance and is subject to a lower degree of wear than regular aluminium brake tracks. |
With their low weight and 21mm rims these wheels are excellent for climbing and very suitable for all-round use |
Internal rim width of 18 mm, which is 2 mm narrower than the E 1800. This makes for a lighter wheelset and a better fit with 23 and 25 mm tyres. |
23 stands for the rim height, 32 is also available. 23 mm gives more comfort and is lighter, while 32 mm is stiffer and has better power transfer. |
The P 1800 wheels guarantee a tight spoke tension and can handle a maximum rider weight of 120 kg. |
These durable DT Swiss 370 hubs with 3 pawl body have a good seal against dirt and water. |
The rim height of 23 mm provides more comfort compared to the 32 mm high version. |
The rim height of 32 mm is stiffer and more aerodynamic than the 23 mm version. |
The PR 1600 mid-range wheels from DT Swiss have good bearing quality, sealing and durability. |
These wheels from DT Swiss's "PR Series" are one step lighter and stiffer than the "P Series", and represent excellent value for money. |
The DT Swiss 350 hubs with the ratchet system engage quickly, ensuring quick acceleration after cornering. |
Thanks to the Pro Lock nipple system, your wheels maintain much better spoke tension for a longer period of time. |
Can be used both with an inner tube and tubeless! |
Cons
For a DT Swiss wheel set with carbon rims the PRC series is recommended. |
If you often ride on rough, sandy surfaces there is a chance that the black OXiC brake track may eventually show signs of wear. |
Because the rim is only 23 mm high, it provides little to no aerodynamic advantage at higher speeds. |
Although the weight is relatively low, it can still be a bit too high for competitive cyclists. For an even lower weight, you can look at a DT Swiss wheelset in the PRC series. |
Although the 32 mm high version offers more stiffness, you lose some comfort compared to the 23 mm high version. |
