Chain Breakers

A good chain breaker belongs in every cyclist's toolbox. With a chain rivet tool you can easily and quickly loosen a bicycle chain, which is of course handy for replacing the bike chain itself, but also for maintaining other parts of your drivetrain it is sometimes a lot easier if you loosen the bike chain. Because the thickness of a bike chain varies with the number of gears, you may need different chain breakers. However, most modern 10, 11 or 12-speed bike chains can be loosened with a single chain rivet tool. Different brands of chain breakers work fine with the different brands of bicycle chains.
