Description

Description

This Vredestein FV Latex inner tyre is one of the quickest inner tubes on the market. The supple latex material the tyre adapts easily so it has low rolling resistance.

Latex inner tyres are always at least a bit porous, so need to be pumped up regularly.

Assembly

A latex inner tube cannot be inflated hard outside the tyre as this can cause lumps and deformations. Always inflate a latex inner tube with care and only lightly, until is forms an actual tube. This reduces the risk of the tube coming between the rim and the tyre during assembly.

Supple but bizarrely quick to leak

- Jesse 21 September 2023

I have been using these inner tubes for my competition wheels for a few months now, they are incredibly supple and I am very happy with them, only now I have had a puncture for the third time in three months, even though there was no reason to have one. After a few uses they drop from 6 to 2 bar within a few hours. Despite the nice experience on the bike, they are now no longer worth it to me because I have to replace them every so often.

Pros & Cons

light
super flexible
leak very quickly

Fast supple ride..my favourite!

- Carmelo 3 September 2023

I have been using these tubes for many years and prefer them to going tubeless..they need a little more card than butyl but I love them

Pros & Cons

Fast
Supple ride
Can sometimes get pinch punctures occasionally

excellent road feel

- Claude 31 July 2023

These tubes are the nec plus ultra of latex. Exceptional road feel, gives the tyre suppleness for a verified weight of 50g. Very happy with my purchase

Lightweight tyre that loses pressure quickly.

- Jacques 25 July 2023

Recently bought a set of three to compare with vittoria latex. The vredestein latex bb lose pressure very quickly, around 0.3bar per hour. This is way too much. With the first one, I thought it was flat (one ride) but the second one does it too. Pretty disappointing to me. Vittoria stays on pressure much better during a ride. Secondly, the weight praised here. I measured both different vittoria's as well as the peacesteins: vittoria is around 84/85 grams per tyre, peacestein around 65 grams. So the 20g difference leads to at least (much) less pressure loss. Fine bb for people who ride short rides and don't mind having to inflate their tyres completely before each ride. For longer rides and some re-pumping, I still recommend the vittorias. That 40 grams extra is thus negligible (if weight is important, look at tubolinos or similar bb's).

Pros & Cons

Light weight
Smooth
Empty too quickly
Expensive
Prone to leakage
Valve extender needed
