Suitable for all Shimano Hollowtech II Race cranksets, this power meter provides accurate and reliable power measurements, giving you insight into your performance and allowing you to optimise your workouts.
Years of experience and innovation
The high-quality third-generation power meters from Stages, a company with years of experience in (professional) cycling, are handmade in the United States. Constant improvements in their power meters and individual calibration ensure optimum accuracy, with only a maximum measurement deviation of 1.5%. The Active Temperature Compensation (ATC) Technology guarantees you an accurate power measurement regardless of ambient and weather conditions. In addition, the optimised internal accelerometer ensures a wireless and precise measurement of your cadence.
Battery life and connectivity
The replaceable CR2032 button cell battery gives you over 200 hours of battery life and is easy to replace, without tools. The integrated LED indicator provides you with battery level and calibration information. The ANT+ and Bluetooth connection ensure optimal data transfer and connectivity to almost all modern bike computers. Finally, the IPX7 water resistance ensures that you can also train carefree in wetter weather conditions.
Please note:
Make sure the power meter is compatible with your frame and/or direct-mount rear brake under your bottom bracket.
You can do this by, as shown in the image, inserting Allen key 10 between your current crank arm and your frame and/or direct-mount rear brake. If this fits at all spots, then this Stages powermeter is going to fit too!

1. Remove the pedal on the left side.
2. Loosen the two crank bolts at the top of the crank arm and remove the locking pin from the slot.
3. Next, remove the crank nut with this crank tool.
4. Now the crank arm is basically loose and you can take it off the axle. You may well have to apply considerable force here. The most important thing is not to damage the crank arm.
5. Then fit the powermeter crankarm by following the steps above in reverse order.
6. Next, do not forget to mount your pedal to the new crank arm and you are ready to ride!

I wanted to experience for myself what it means to push 300 or 500 watts, and with this powermeter this was finally possible without emptying my wallet. With a bit of dexterity, the installation is done in no time and the connection with the Garmin Edge 1040 is also no big deal.

I had the previous version, and this works fine: you don't need a more expensive one. Helps to train focused on wattage, and to get over mountains at wattage well. Problem with the previous version is that it quit when it was drizzling rain on the Hautacam, seen many reviews back online of this problem. In consultation with Mantel I found a good solution with this new version, but the closure has not really changed compared to the previous version. I hope this one is waterproof though.
