Description

Description

The Shimano CW41 is an ideal cycling shoe for casual and holiday touring. The shoe has a classic lacing closure, which provides even tension and walking comfort. Since the sole is a little less stiff, it allows you to have a proper foot strike while walking. So there's no problem in going out for a walk with the CW41 shoes. The sole is suitable for cleat mount, so you can choose to ride with either platform pedals or clipless pedals.

The Shimano CW41 shoes are compatible with Shimano CLICK'R pedals. It's way easier to clip out of these pedals than out of conventional MTB pedals, which makes the shoes ideal for use on electric bikes or trekking bikes. So for long distances, day trips or holiday rides, the Shimano CW41 is the right choice!

Extensive explanation size in cm
The size denoted in cm tells you how long the shoe is. This size was taken on the inside of the shoe measuring from the heel to the toes. In order to determine what size you’ll need, you can measure your own foot. Do this by placing a piece of paper on the floor tucked against the wall. Stand on the paper with your heel against the wall. Draw a line at your big toe. Measure the distance between that and the wall, and add approximately 5 mm. The number of centimeters is the size in centimeters found on our website. Which specific EU/UK size you need can differ between brands. This is because each brand uses their own boot tree, causing the shoe to be bigger or smaller than the size would suggest. This is why we’ve added the size in centimeters for all of our shoes. We’ve also categorised our shoes in three different groups: narrow, medium, and wide. In order to determine the width of your foot, you can use this table. Read all about it on our blog!

Excellent sturdy leisure cycling shoe

- Penny 31 July 2016

I needed to replace my existing Shimano shoes which had lasted me many years. These are perfect - the ability to clip in if I ever master the technique or use them as normal shoes on my platform pedals. The fit is as expected (although a size 6 UK is a 40 in these shoes) and slightly wide (good for me with my flat feet!) and they are extremely comfortable. I've just returned from my first 'wearing-in' 3 hour ride along bumpy canal towpaths - jolted bones but no aching feet! Highly recommended.

Pros & Cons

clip or no-clip
rigid sole
slightly wide fit
sturdy construction
very comfortable
