For bike packing (races), I also use the Racing Ray as a rear tire. For me, the tire is fast and light enough. On damp tracks, the tire has less tendency to slip sideways than the Racing Ralph.

Tyres for MTB - everyone has their own opinion. The Schwalbe Racing Ray/Ralph combination turned out to be perfect for the Pfälzerwald and my riding style.

Despite repeated alignment on the rim, there is still a radial runout. Otherwise an excellent tyre.

Easy heel. Mounted as a front wheel it has good grip and a comfortable ride, in the speed grip version. The new casing looks solid with a low weight. To combine with a Ralph on the back or a Rocket Ron.

Wonderful tyre with low rolling resistance and plenty of grip. Very difficult to fit. Only with tyre changers, two hands and two knees. Especially smearing everything with Dreft helps. I ride with Michelin latex inner tubes on No Tubes rims. With the original Giant rims, mounting was easy though (still need tyre lever). I think a 2.25 is a better choice than the 2.35 because it is lighter. With the transparent sides are lighter too!

While the Racing Ralph could be inflated directly with an ordinary foot pump, with this one (Racing Ray) a CO2 cartridge had to do its service to get the tyre properly on the rim. This then went very well. After pouring Doc Blue into the tyre through the valve opening, I was able to inflate the tyre with an ordinary floor pump. More than 24 hours later and after I had increased the pressure to 4 Bar twice, the tyre was airtight. About wear resistance and riding characteristics, I can't say anything so far. A necessary tool in my opinion is BBB Cycling Easytire Tyre Tool BTL-78 (available at Mantel) and an extra helping hand wouldn't hurt either.

Have this tyre combined with the racing ralph at the back. On still my old 26", what a combo. Went for a 40km test ride and very happy with this combination.

Great front tyre for the Dutch trails. light weight, fast, predictable in corners. ICM a racing ralph behind you have an ideal XC combo. or Rocket Ron behind, which is also light and fast, but more playful in the corners.

I mounted the tyre in combination with the Racing Ralph. I am thrilled so far. Top traction and rolling resistance. However, I haven't really been in the mountains yet because of the season.

My old front tyre wasn't worn out yet, but already a bit older and wanted to replace it anyway. I don't regret doing so. Following a tip, I bought this Ray along with the Racing Ralph Addix Speed Super Ground. The Ray (2.35) is at the front and the Ralph (2.25) at the back and that's a great combo. So far I've done 1 ride with it and I never knew you could be so happy with new tyres! I even felt at times that the tyre was 'steering along'. Phenomenal grip, then, the way I want it without fear of slipping. Man, I was 'dancing' across the Utrechtse Heuvelrug ;-) If I may still mention a downside, it is the mounting. I am too stingy to buy one of those Schwalbe ointments and then you sometimes push the thumb from under your nail to get the tyre on the rim.

Nothing is perfect, but this one comes close, rides well, I bought it together with the Racing Ralph, good set! Because of the soft sidewalls, the tyre forms well at low pressure compared to the surface One downside, took some effort to get over the rim.
