Description

Description

The Castelli Pioggia 3 overshoes are intended to keep water out. "Pioggia" is the Italian word for rain. These overshoes are fully waterproof with their taped seams, waterproof zip and a silicone-sealed edge on the inside to keep water out. Thanks to the PU-coated fabric with a fleece layer, the Pioggia 3 is also suitable for use in cold conditions. The stretch fabric ensures a comfortable and aerodynamic fit.

Please note that overshoes sometimes cause wet feet despite being waterproof. This is caused by water coming in through the bottom of your cycling shoe or the top of the overshoe.

Technology

• Loop on the inside to easily put on the overshoes
• Durable material on the bottom of the overshoes

Waterproof though, does give off red colour on your white shoes

- Vincent 10 August 2023

Used with my weekend trip to Valkenburg. To many a downpour, my feet and socks stayed dry. Only (big) downside for me is that my white Shimano s-phyre 903 are red at the back.

Pros & Cons

Good quality
Solid underside
Waterproof
Gives off colour (red)

Functional but unfortunately too fragile

- Martijn 3 October 2022

Very nice overshoes that stop rain well. Comfortably warm as well. Unfortunately after a ride of 100+ km I already had 2 holes. Probably happened at the apple pie pit stop. Big bummer. I advise against standing on it.

Pros & Cons

Holds rain well
Looks
Stores well
Warm
Too expensive (see top point)
Very fragile (after 1 ride 2 holes)

Fine overshoe. Feel like the neoprene is just the right thickness; warm but not stiff. Detail; Castelli logo sits exactly where the boa button on my shoe.

Pros & Cons

Easy to put on.
Supple and thin material.
Warm and waterproof.

Top quality typical Castelli.

- Willem 17 November 2021

Tip for donning: first put the overshoe halfway up your cycling shoe before putting it on your foot. Then fasten shoe, cover over heel, zip, fasten Velcro, go cycling.

Pros & Cons

Easy to put on
Used until freezing: no dead toes in my sc
Well waterproof
None: well worth the money
