Accuracy and reliability
The 105 R7000 is one of Stages' third generation power meters. These third generation power meters are characterised by their high accuracy, reliability and durability. The sensor's measurements only deviate up to 1.5%, which is super accurate. As the unit is integrated in the crank arm, the power meter is extremely lightweight and small; the crank arm is a mere 20 grams heavier than the standard left Shimano 105 crank arm, making this device one of the lightest power meters on the market. You'll appreciate knowing that you're not carrying a gram too many on your climbs!
Waterproof casing and replaceable battery
This crank arm has an IPX7 waterproofing rating, which means that virtually no water can get into it and that it is very suitable for cyclocross and gravel riding as well! Power is supplied by a C2032 battery, which you can easily replace yourself.
Compatibility with cycle computers
As the data is transferred via ANT+ or Bluetooth Smart technology, the power meter can be paired with almost any bike computer. Also, firmware updates can be carried out wirelessly via your phone. Cadence is measured wirelessly via the internal accelerometer; no additional sensors are required.
Compatibility with Ultegra and Dura-Ace cranks
This Stages 105 R7000 power meter is compatible with the Shimano 105 R7000, the Shimano Ultegra R8000 and Shimano Dura-Ace R9100 crank. It is also compatible with the Shimano 105 5800 crank. The only downside is that the colour of the meter may differ from that of the crank arm; it is up to you to decide whether that's a deal breaker.
Mounting the Stages power meter
Mounting the Shimano Stages power meters is quite easy. All you need is a torque wrench and the Shimano crank key TL-FC16 / FC-M960.
Please note:
Check whether the power meter is compatible with your frame and/or direct mount rear brake under your bottom bracket. As shown in the above picture, you can do so by inserting an Allen key 10 between your current crank arm and your frame and/or direct mount rear brake. If it fits at every point, the Stages power meter will fit as well!

Montaggio
How to mount the power meter crank arm:1. Remove the left pedal.
2. Loosen the two crank bolts at the top of the crank arm and remove the locking pin from the slot.
3. Remove the crank nut with this crank wrench.
4. The crank arm is now loose and can be removed from the axle. To do so you may have to apply a great deal of force. The most important thing is not to damage the crank arm.
5. Put the power meter crank arm in place by reversing the above steps.
6. Mount your pedal to the new crank arm, and you're all set to hop on your bike and hit the road!
You can also consult this blog in which we explain how to mount a Shimano crankset. Of course, you only need to read the sections concerning the left crank arm.

Facile, pratico, immediato
