Description

Description

This Trivio bottom bracket spanner is suitable for loosening or tightening external bottom bracket bearings. These bottom brackets are fixed with a screw thread (BSA or Italian/ITA) in the frame of your racing or mountain bike. After intensive use your bottom bracket bearings will run less smoothly, replacing them is a job you can do relatively easily yourself with the right tools. The Trivio Bottom Bracket Key is usually used with an external adapter that fits your specific bottom bracket.

solid tool

- Joris 9 October 2023

Very fine spanner to (de)assemble bone bracket. But next time I will use a sandwich bag to prevent the paint on the bracket from damaging. Mind you, the Deore brackets have a thin layer of paint, these just get damaged quickly, this spanner can't do much about that.

Pros & Cons

easy to (de)assemble bottom bracket
Very solid finish
Can slightly damage bottom bracket

I purchased this wrench for removing the centerlock ring from the brake disc. It was difficult to find on the internet if this works so I want to point out that this wrench is fine. Be careful though, keep the wrench well level with the centerlock ring.

Limited use.

- John 10 March 2021

I wanted to use this tool to dismantle a 180 mm centrelock disc brake. Because of the plasticised handle, the spanner runs at an angle and kept slipping off. So plastic handle scrapped off. The spanner is on the short side. Could not apply a powerful torque. Used the welder to lengthen the spanner. A longer spanner is much better. Costs a bit more, but worth it.
