The waterproof heart rate belt from Tacx is one of the few sensors that communicate wirelessly with ANT+ and Bluetooth® Smart. This enables you to use the sensor during exercise in combination with many other devices, like a tablet or smartphone with sport applications, or a Garmin device or Tacx trainer.
This makes keeping track of your performance even easier and more fun.
Trough ANT+ and Bluetooth® Smart your heart rate data is transferred wirelessly. You can use the heart rate belt with the Smart trainers from Tacx, but also when cycling outdoor or for other sports like running and fitness.
The compatible Bluetooth version is 4.0 and higher. Bluetooth 4.0 is also called Bluetooth Smart. If you have an older Bluetooth version but you want to connect the heart rate monitor to your smartphone or tablet, you can also use a receiver.
ANT+ is a wireless protocol with which data can be sent to other devices. This is comparable to Bluetooth Smart with is integrated in most smartphones. This way of data transmission is mostly used for sensors, such as heart rate monitors, speed sensors, cadence sensors, powermeters, and cycling trainers. The information from these sensors is transmitted to a cycling computer with an ANT+ antenna or a USB ANT+ dongle in a computer.
