Technology
Full Pin technologyThe SRAM XG-1150 casette is a light-weight, 11-speed cassette which is held together by 123 stainless steel pins. This not only makes it lighter, but also much more durable.
Easy dirt removal with the open X-Dome design
This cassette has a huge range, from 10 to 42 teeth, making no terrain too challenging. With the 10-tooth cog you can more easily get up speed on flat sections, and with the 42-tooth you can conquer the steepest climbs. Thanks to the open X-Dome design, mud and debris is easily removed, which improves both shifting and durability. Mud is less easily trapped between the cogs, so that your shifting is smooth and your casette lasts longer.
Wider range, designed specifically for the XD driver body
The XDdriver body range from SRAM ensures a more stable connection with the hub, and makes it possible to mount casettes which have a 10-tooth cog. The ratios of this cassette are:
•10-42t: 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 21, 24, 38, 32, 36, 42
Weight:
• Weight: 394 g
Assembly
Special tools for mountingTo mount this cassette you need specific tools. These can be found here.
Don't forget the assembly grease!
The lockring of your cassette can be well tightened, in some cases up to 40 Nm. To make removing the lockring in the future easier, we recommend lubricating it with a bit of assembly grease. You can find our selection of assembly greases here.
User tips
How often should I wash my bike? Regular washing will keep your bike in good nick. It ensures that the parts on your bike last longer so that you can enjoy cycling happiness for longer. How often you should wash your bike is largely dependent on what sort of weather conditions you ride in. Are you always out there, come rain or shine? Or are you a strictly a fair-weather cyclist? It all has an influence on the degree of wear on bike parts, and some of us have to wash our bikes more regularly than others. Refer to the plan below as a general guideline:October to March:
• Wash every 200 km
• Rinse after every ride
• Dry and lube the chain after every ride
• Let the bike dry at room temperature
April to September:
• Wash every 300 km
• Rinse after a ride in the rain
• Dry and lube the chain after rinsing or washing
• Let the bike dry at room temperature

Good value, long lasting cassette that will serve you well
The XG cassette is just as functional as the XX1 cassette it has replaced at a third of the cost. It has quiet crisp shifting and should last a long time, making it excellent value for money. In the UK Sram 11 speed cassettes are like gold dust with a waiting time of 6-8 weeks for this model. Mantel delivered it within 3 days, which is fantastic service for an international customer.
