The Shimano XTR M9020 pedals are extremely strong, rigid and have a long lifespan.
The shaft is made out of chrome-molybdenum and is very strong to ensure an ultimate power transfer. A specially designed body ensures the mud drain is optimal. It is also possible to set the release tension, this system works the same way as the early SPD pedals, you adjust them with an Allen key. Besides the XTR M9020 is stronger, lighter, and more durable than the XT version, these pedals are fitted with a cage. This cage increases its weight slightly, but provides a much higher pedal efficiency and remains clipable on two sides.
Shimano invented SPD. Over the years, the SPD system is reduced in weight and drains the mud even better. Thanks to the Shimano's expertise in bearings, metal processing and pedaling dynamics the SPD still sets the bar in mountainbiking.
