Description
With the introduction of the new Ultegra 11 speed group a lot of attention went to the 11 gears. However, the most important change from our experience has been the crankset. The new four-arm crankset, with a diameter of 110mm makes it unnecessary to choose between a double or compact crank, because this crack can use both.
The new four-arm structure is more rigid and has a weight reduction of 26 grams compared to its predecessor. The new four-arm crank is also the embodiment of Shimano's 'rider-tuned concept . Shimano say you should not be limited by your equipment, but you should rather be able to make a choice that suits your riding style. You can choose between a compact or double drivetrain. The best options ar a 50-34, 52-36 or a 53-39. As an addition, there is a specific cyclo-cross combination which uses a 36-46 ratio.
