Shimano Dura Ace R9170 Di2 Disc Groupset

The Shimano Dura Ace R9170 Di2 Disc groupset builds on the succes of the previous 3 generations of Dura Ace, and the results don't lie: this groupset has all the properties you want when you're building up your perfect bike. You get the extremely powerful and easy to modulate disc brakes as well as the quickest and most accurate shifting performance under all conditions from the Di2 electronic derailleurs and shifters. This helps you build a bike which is easier to control on fast descends, and one that will never miss a shift when you're hammering up the next climb.

Technology

The R9170 Disc Di2 shifters have been given a new, more compact design which makes them virtually identical in shape to the R9100 shifters. This offers you the same optimal ergonomic grip. For those of us who can afford to ride multiple bikes fitted with the 9100 series drive trains, switching between bikes will be effortless and easy. They're also fitted with operating buttons on top for your Garmin Edge 820 bicycle computer. The shifters have been given a more distinct "click" feel, providing a more tactile feedback on your shifts.

The rear derailleur uses the Shadow technology first seen with Shimano mountain bike rear derailleurs. This causes the derailleur to be placed more directly below the cassette, reducing the chances of damage from external causes such as a crash.

Possibly familiar from mountain biking, but now also available on the new Dura Ace 9150 Di2 groupset. A programmable system allows you to shift using a predetermined sequence. This enables the front derailleur to automatically shift when you've reached the end of your cassette (or sooner, should you so desire). Shimano guarantees a shock-free experience, meaning you won't feel a thing while you're pushing hard.

The newly designed crank set makes for a more efficient power transfer as well as increased rigidity while staying at the same weight.
