One of the best bike chain punches is this little powerhouse.

- Geert Dijstelbloem, 12 March, 2024

This is one of the best chain punches you can just slip into your on-board tools. Easy shape and quite compact but still powerful enough to split even a thick E bike chain. It is a bit more expensive but well worth the money. I have two of them, one at home with the tools and one in the on-board tool of my recumbent (trike). Mostly you use this tool at home anyway because that's where you work on your bike more often than on the road.

Pros & Cons

Compact
Easy to use
Strong and durable
Quite pricey

Rather bought quick-links directly

- Jeroen, 21 June, 2021

Used the tool for punching an 11-speed chain. Since you usually get greasy fingers then, I had hoped for more grip. Afterwards, the metal nipple for punching turned out to be crooked, so the tool is no longer usable. Then it also turned out that my method of working turned out not to be quite the right one. Now have a quick-link installed.

Pros & Cons

Keep the chain well together
Broken after 1 use
Instructions difficult to read
Little grip with greasy hands

Great product, good price

- Joost, 18 January, 2021

To dismount a shimano 6600 chain and mount new one. Never used it before, but you can only use it 1 way, can't go wrong in my opinion. And small and handy too.
