Sturdy wide pedal, which can be used with a regular shoe and with shoe with SPD. This is due to the double function on the pedal.

Exactly what I was looking for.

- Martijn, 14 July, 2022

I was looking for pedals that I could also use with regular shoes. In fact, they replace very old pedals with straps (!). And I was afraid it would take quite some getting used to. Fortunately, it is not that bad.

Pros & Cons

Affordable
Good adjustment
Nice that they are also suitable for regular shoes
Not the lightest pedals. But oh well.

Great pedals for when you use your bike for multiple purposes

- Alex, 22 December, 2021

These "hybrid" pedals from Shimano can be used with SPD cycling shoes and normal sneakers. I have the pedals on my gravel bike so I can also just grab my bike quickly to go to family in casual clothes, as well as full exercise on the road and in the woods in cycling clothes. The pedals are super durable, I have had the same pedals on my mountain bike for quite some time and they work like a charm! Good product!

Pros & Cons

For use with SPD and normal shoes
Good grip

Great quality and convenient

- Willem, 24 September, 2021

Because I developed a problem with my feet, I could not ride with cycling shoes for a long time. Those caused pain. With wider softer athletic shoes no trouble. These pedals allow me to ride loose and locked.

Pros & Cons

Easy to mount and use
Solid material
With athletic shoes on the road bike
With cycling shoes clicked on the road bike
A bit heavier than spd only pedal
Slightly more expensive than click only

Good but heavy

- Sven, 1 August, 2021

Bought these pedals because I don't always want to ride with spd shoes. Upon picking up the box, I immediately noticed 1 thing..... How heavy these things are. Anyway, mounted anyway. Nice that spd 56 plates are included. The pedal is a bit heavier on 1 side so it always tilts so that the spd protrudes backwards. This allows you to engage quite easily by moving your foot forward (double spd is still easier of course, but at least it has been thought about). Pulling the foot back to get the non-spd side up takes more getting used to. When going down a muddy trail, had to unclick a few times to correct an imbalance, they release very easily, you almost forget you are clipped in. Even with substantial mud under your shoe it clicks back in quite easily. I also subjected the pedals/plates to a "pull test" (go up a steep hill and pull on the pedals), but with a straight load I can't say they let go very easily. They may not set any records, but in the end I am very satisfied with these pedals!

Pros & Cons

No more changing pedals
Heavy duty

- Diana, 21 March, 2021

Since I also use my mountain bike for daily rides to school, work, etc. where I don't want to put on my mountain bike shoes, this pedal is ideal. Engaging is fine and with normal shoes you have a lot of grip on the other side.

I use the pedals on my spinning bike. I use them to do HIIT and RPM workouts from LES MILLS. The wide pedals give more stability to deliver power. The pedal has SPD on one side and can be used with a regular shoe on the other. Handy when warming up.

Handy pedal for long distances in the city and on loose dirt roads

- Ivo, 31 August, 2020

It is advisable to adjust the click system slightly. Because of the alternating sides - normal pedal or click system - you can sometimes forget which side you are using when getting off or stopping. In that case, a light adjustment will release you quickly so you can have your foot on the ground in time. So a handy pedal for long distances in the city and on loose dirt roads.

Pros & Cons

Choice with or without click
Especially for touring or hybrid bikes
Good grip on both sides of pedal
Smooth rotating pedal
Suitable for all conditions
It takes a while to find the right side up
Remember which side you used when getting off the bike
