Beautiful chain to look at and initially little mechanical noise. The chain was consistently cleaned and lubricated after every ride. Unfortunately, I have to conclude that the lifespan is no longer than a standard Shimano or KMC chain

This KMC chain is basically the daddy of their range of chains. Yes it is expensive, but I've used a few of these now and can say I get much more mileage out of each one than a standard KMC silver or gold SL or EL chain. So much so that it actually works out cheaper! The look of these chains available in several colours really gives a lift to your bike's looks. Care is required and I recommend wax lube treatment and avoid cleaning with any acidic products as the colour accented links can gradually lose their colour. That said run the same way all the time the black finish stays fresh and they last and do not stretch as quickly as many! #Rule5
