CyclOn Wax Lube

I have been using a similar product from another brand for years, but given the price difference ordered this one once. My first observation is that this one is thinner (more fluid) which is a drawback when applying (putting it in the fridge before use might help a bit). But thinking logically it should then penetrate better between the chain parts, use will have to show if that is correct.

It is incredibly watery wax which means you use way too much. The wax will do what it needs to do but I prefer to buy 'thicker' wax, which spreads more finely, requires less and is more effective in use. So it will be more down to me than the wax and therefore 3 stars and even then I give too much....

It works well , especially with your MTB , your chain attracts less dirt. Standard bike commuting around 150 km á 200 km add something on the chain. On the MTB chain, check it every time you ride and possibly add some depends on the conditions where you have ridden, of course.

I ran out of my old CyclOn Wax Lube, I liked it very much, better than what I used before so I ordered this one again. Still an excellent product.

Once got a small Falcon at a touring event. Used that after Boeshield ran out. It takes longer for the chain to squeak than crack.

From the large bottle, it is a bit awkward to get the wax directly on the chain. Other than that, it works super!

Great is the clean chain..... When the chain has been cleaned and the wax is on it.... almost no more dirt build-up. Must be relubricated regularly. Do not apply outdoors in winter. The wax becomes solid in the bottle and the application nozzles become blocked if it is too cold.

After cleaning my chain, I lubricated this chain with this. You have to apply the stuff generously, and because of the white substance, you can easily see where the stuff is coming from. After ± four weeks with lots of wet weather (bike is not outside), the chain was completely covered in rust. Apparently, this wax does not provide long-term protection. I have never experienced this with previous lubricants. In fact, the stuff that was on it before sat on it for a year (yes, a very dirty chain), but no rust.

Top product! Long lubrication, chain stays nice and clean and in wet weather the lubrication remains good! Read that some find it a bit thin. I prefer my lubricant a bit thinner as it has to penetrate into the links. It does me no good if it stays on the chain. When I shake well and take my time to lubricate the chain, I don't mess. When I forget to shake or am too hasty, I very occasionally spill a drop. No disaster. By the way, Cyclon's bionet and bike cleaner are also great!

Chain runs nicely if it is lubricated with wax! If the chain becomes dry again after a while, you can easily wipe it off with a cloth and wax it again. No dirty black gunk on your chain and cassette, the wax keeps everything a lot cleaner and you can clean your bike much more easily.

Due to the thin composition, it is a bit of a mess but the pleasure you get from it once it is on makes up for it. Chain runs quietly over the cassette and continues to do so after the necessary km's on unpaved paths and MTB routes.

I use a plastic syringe to pull up the wax through the cap and apply it with that to solve the peobleem of the awkward cap. Works very well this way. Highly recommended!

Started with dry lube and I wanted to try wax. I like it very much and will always buy it from now on. I had to replace my chain with dry lube at 2600km (0.5 wear). I am now at 2500km with the wax and I think I will get to 3500 to 4000km. It also attracts much less dirt and if you touch chain you can easily get the wax off your fingers. A 125ml tube lasts a long time. The chain also stays lubricated longer and starts squeaking less quickly than oil, even in the rain.

I thought (and I don't know why) that wax was harsh and it was a chore to do the chain. But it's not at all. With this, it's a piece of cake. It's been a really long time since my driveline has run so quietly.

Good lubricant, seems to spread fine between links and adheres well and long to the chain, so it protects well.

The wax sometimes becomes crumbly or hard and then gets stuck in the nozzle of the bottle. This makes it difficult to administer it properly. It also sometimes causes you to put more pressure, after which the bottle forms holes in the edges and leaks past them. I don't apply that much pressure, so it seems to be a design fault with the bottles. This has already happened twice. As long as this build-up does not happen, or after you have got the nozzle completely clean again (less obvious than you might hope), it does drip smoothly again. From the performance of the wax itself, I am currently very satisfied.
