Clean grease and tighten. Both my handlebars and seatpost are fixed in place and no more creaks. The seat post no longer sags and the clamp does not need to be tightened excessively.

I had a lot of problems with the seat post sagging on the mountain bike. Other mounting pastes or waterproof pastes have no granules which keeps the seatpost sagging. With this mounting paste my saddle stayed at the right height after a mountain bike ride of 60 km and 1400 altimeters and I weigh +100 kilos.
