Quality cycling jacket for the cold season at a good price!

- Rene, 15 January, 2024

Purchased these for autumn/winter on race bike for commuting, more than meets expectations. Because I also cycle late in the evening or early in the morning due to work duties and therefore have to deal with cold temperatures, it is good to experience. With Easter wind against and feeling temperature minus 9 stayed nice and warm with only thermo shirt underneath. Jacket feels light and is comfortable. The only downside is perhaps the sleeves are a little too long, but that corrects itself on the bike. Otherwise, the jacket is nicely finished.

Pros & Cons

Affordable price
Ample deep pockets to put items in.
Great fit.
Quality.
Warm with temperature below zero
Sleeves just a little too long.

Lovely jacket, I don't need another one

- Jeroen, 17 March, 2023

Close-fitting jacket that quickly wicks away perspiration. Stays nice and warm during cold days, with just a sweat shirt or thermo shirt underneath. Used between -1 and 10 degrees during long bike rides.

Top coat and highly recommended.

- Marc, 20 December, 2022

I drive to work daily (20 km) and am quite satisfied with the insulation against the cold of this jacket. Even at -8° I had no cold. The jacket also caught the eye of other people who asked if it was warm enough because it has a thin and light feel.

Pros & Cons

nice and warm jacket
wears well, good freedom of movement
worn with layers at -8°, everything ok
No downsides so far

Great winter jacket !

- Xavier, 8 January, 2022

Too bad I ordered a L instead of a M… my bad… Great jacket for deep winter and also light as this is thin but keeps you very warm tough ! Only thing is when temperatures gets warmer during the ride the jacket doesn’t fits in the jersey’s pocket…

Pros & Cons

Keeps warm
Light
Not compact

Truly fantastic winter coat

- Mark, 22 December, 2021

I hesitated for a long time about which coat to buy for winter. I finally settled on this one, and I haven't regretted it for a moment. When I first held it, I didn't believe it would be warm enough, as it felt very thin. But I completely came back to that after the first ride! The jacket is really fantastic. I have now ridden more than 10 rides with this jacket. From -4°C to around 10°C. Above 8°C, this jacket is actually too warm. Below 8°C I only put an undershirt underneath with short sleeves. From about 3°C I put long sleeves under it. As for waterproofing, I have ridden in fog, drizzle, drizzle and a shower. It stops that perfectly. I haven't had heavier showers yet. As for size: I am 1.95 metres and weigh 85 kilos. So tall and slim. Long-sleeved outerwear is always a risk for me because sleeves are often too short. If the sleeve length is right, the jacket is often much too wide. With this jacket, however, it is nicely tailored! The sleeves are wonderfully long, and the jacket also fits well. The flap on the lower back is also generous. Only the sleeves are a little too wide in my opinion, which makes you flutter a bit in the wind.

Pros & Cons

Deep pockets
Long sleeves
Wonderfully warm
Poor visibility
Slightly too wide sleeves

Very good winter jacket

- Olivier, 12 December, 2021

Before making a purchase, I seek out different opinions, get informed and look for reviews. I'm delighted with this purchase. When I first used it, I was worried that the jacket wouldn't be warm enough. I quickly had to reconsider my opinion, as the jacket is very warm, allowing me to make journeys in temperatures approaching 0 degrees.

Pros & Cons

Breathable
Light
Warm
Low rain resistance

Nice jacket

- Marco, 26 January, 2021

Was delivered very quickly by Mantel as usual. It is a nice fitting jacket. A bit tight under the armpits but as it is elastic you don't bother at all. Nice long sleeves so they don't pull up when cycling. I am 1.83 and 73 kg. I ordered an M and it fits perfectly. I am cold when cycling but I didn't really get cold, the sweat is drained well and you don't really feel that you get soaked. The back ventilates, you feel that right away. The collar is not super tight but good enough. The pockets at the back are nice and big and also elastic so you can take a lot with you. Zip at the back is also ideal. Design is not really flashy but nice enough. I am happy with it, great jacket. Pricey though, but they all are.

Pros & Cons

Breathability
Elastic
Fit
Large pockets
Zip at back
Expensive
Slightly boring

Top coat

- Paul, 28 December, 2020

Since the review helped me choose; here is my input. I am 1.96 tall and have a 112cm chest circumference and long arms (can't wear a normal shirt, only the special slimfit from SuitSupp**). I ordered the XXL, just before Christmas, but the jacket arrived within 1.5 days....Top! First impression was good. Standing outside for 10 minutes immediately gave a good idea of the ventilation on the back and windstopper in arms and chest. The sleeves are long....Really long. I've had several cycling jackets, from Decatlon to Castelli, but it was always "just about" in terms of sleeve length. This AGU is exceptional for me as far as this point is concerned, and the sleeve also fits nicely on the wrists, so the glove falls well and easily over it. While cycling, I had no problems with the sleeve coming out or up the glove. Furthermore, the jacket has a slightly wider body fitment as I am not wide nor do I have a belly. Nevertheless, it fits well and I could only catch the back of the sleeves flapping slightly, say the chicken breast parts of the upper arms...;-), but this is not an issue for me at all. The bottom of the jacket fits nicely and does not creep up with cycling. The back falls well over the butt and the front does not sit irritatingly low. The fabric is soft and this type of inner lining was new to me. All this makes it look like the jacket falls smoothly and feels light in weight. I did a two-hour road bike ride in 3 degrees Celsius on it, and then had about 20 minutes of light rain (say interval setting of the windscreen wipers in the car when you're driving 50km/h). I had a sweat shirt and very thin longsleeve under the jacket which worked well for me to make sure the sweat didn't get into the jacket. I never felt cold for a moment, maybe even a little too warm and I warmed up quite quickly. You can feel the ventilation on the back quite well. Nice and fresh until you are warm, after that the temperature feeling in the upper body is nicely distributed, despite the fact that I naturally sweat a lot. Neck fits reasonably nicely, but then I have a thin neck, and don't need a necktie anymore. The pockets on the back are satisfactory for me. It fits a large smartphone, extensive tyre sticking set and a folded windstopper, where I didn't use the zip pocket. Other than that, it is not an exciting jacket in terms of design or reflections, but I don't care because I have good lighting and don't care about looks. All in all, recommended for those who cycle all year round, based on this first impression.

Practical warm jacket

- Jeroen, 1 December, 2020

Fine jacket, breathable through the back, windproof at the front. Really a world of difference from a Carier windbreaker I have, which is completely wind/waterproof, not warm and breathes for the first time. First rides between 0 and 5gr, sufficiently warm with thin thermo underneath. With an extra layer in between, it can easily go below 0. Design could have been more exciting as far as I am concerned, but for this price, fine product.

Pros & Cons

Good breathability
Windproof at the front
Design could be more exciting
