Description
The Swissstop Sintered Disc brake pads are very heat resistant and very durable. In these brake pads, the compound consists of resin mixed with metal particles. This makes the compound very hard and wear-resistant. These brake pads are also very resistant to the high temperatures that can occur, especially during long descents. The disadvantage is that these brake pads do not engage as quickly as organic or semi-metallic brake pads and make more noise when braking.
These brake pads are therefore very suitable if you cycle in very muddy conditions and have to brake a lot. This is especially the case on very muddy rides in hilly/mountainous terrain. They are also ideal for use in downhill and enduro.
Note
Manufacturers use different fits. So please pay attention if the shape of the brake pad in the picture corresponds to your current brake pad. If you do not know what shape you have, please scroll to the bottom of this page. There you will find a description of each brake pad for which type of brake it is suitable.
• Very low pad wear rates
• High heat resistance
• Excellent for gravity riders
ATTENTION: PADS MUST BE BEDDED IN TO ACHIEVE OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE
Step 1. On a gradual downhill slope, drag each brake for 20-30 seconds, alternating between front and rear. Repeat 2-3 times.
Step 2. On a steeper slope, engage and drag the brakes for 10-15 seconds then increase lever pressure until the bike slows almost to a complete stop. Repeat 2-3 times.
Pro Tip: The front pads will have been heated more than the rear. To achieve optimal performance, exchange the front and rear pads then repeat Step 2.
CAUTION before replacing or exchanging brake pads it is essential to let all parts cool.
