Description
The Shimano Ultegra RS700 road bike wheels take over from the well-known Ultegra 6800 wheels, matching nicely with the other Ultegra-level components. This version is an impressive 150 grams lighter thanks to the carbon laminated rim and lighter hubs. The lower weight makes the wheelset even more responsive, easier to get back up to speed after a turn, and better at climbing hills or mountains. The wheels are also tubeless, meaning you can run them without inner tubes.
• (possibly a torque wrench)
Installing a cassette on a wheel is easy if you have the right tools. If you purchase a cassette remover with a Shimano fit, you will be able to mount either a Shimano or Sram cassette on your rear wheel. Please note! For a Campagnolo cassette you need the Campagnolo tool. If you have a Shimano 9/10-speed cassette, first slide the spacer over the body. Then you place the cassette on the body. This can only be done in one way because of the fit of the body. Finally you turn the washer straight on by hand and tighten it with the cassette tool. Cassettes aren’t easily overtightened, but if you want you can use a torque wrench for this.
• For Shimano 9/10-speed, do not forget to mount the spacer first before installing the cassette.
• Make sure the rim tape is stuck well in the rim.
• Rear wheel: 946 grams
• Front wheel: 632 grams
