Description
These Shimano L03A brake pads are the improved new version of the well-known Shimano L02A disc brake pads. They are suitable for the Shimano 105 R7070, Ultegra R8070, Dura-Ace R9170 hydraulic disc brakes, among others.
Popular brake pads, often sold out unfortunately
These Shimano L03A brake pads are very popular and therefore in high demand. They may well be sold out when you need new ones and can't ride your bike without them. If this is the case, please click here to find other brake pads which are compatible with your brakes.
Excellent modulation and braking power
Just like the L02A brake pads, these Shimano L03A are resin brake pads, i.e. they have an organic compound and therefore consist of soft materials. This provides excellent modulation and braking power. The soft compound also makes these brake pads respond quickly, and ensures that they produce little noise. A drawback of organic brake pads is that they do not work as effectively under higher temperatures which may develop during long descents. Also, organic brake pads wear out faster when they're exposed to mud often.
Advanced heat dissipation
The resin compound on these brake pads makes them quick to engage, easy to modulate and quiet. The cooling fins ensure that heat is dissipated more effectively than in pads without cooling fins. However, the resin compound also makes these brake pads more sensitive to heat than brake pads with a (semi-)metallic compound.
For summer use
If you use your bike mainly in summer and mostly ride relatively flat or undulating areas, these organic brake pads are the perfect choice. However, if you're planning on riding in the mountains and encountering many long descents, we advise you choose brake pads consisting of a harder compound, i.e. semi-metallic or full-metallic brake pads. Also, if you regularly ride in bad, muddy or wintery conditions, you should go for harder brake pads.
Note:
As manufacturers use different sizes and fits, make sure that the shape of the brake pad in the image corresponds with your current brake pad. If you’re not sure about the shape of your brake pad, please take a look at the suitable brakes section below to find out what type of brakes and brake pads are compatible.

Assembly
It is essential that you break in your brake pads after fitting them. When the pads have been properly broken in, they will last longer, brake better and squeak less.Reviews

Worth the money
- James 25 January 2022
They work well with GRX calipers and don't howl too much when it's raining. Power and modulation are good as long as they're bedded in properly. They're a lot more expensive than third party pads but they last well which makes the cost less painful
