Shimano K03S Disc Brake Pads

The Shimano K03S Resin disc brake pads,the successor of the famous Shimano K02S disc brake pads, are made especially for the road bike. These K03S brake pads are 40% more durable than their predecessors, without compromising on braking power, gripping or noise level.

Explanation Organic Compound
Organic brake pads consist of soft materials. These brake pads therefore provide excellent controllability and good braking power. Due to the soft compound, this brake pad also engages quickly. In addition, the organic compound ensures that these brake pads make little noise while riding.
The disadvantage of organic brake pads is that they are less able to withstand higher temperatures, which for example can occur during long descents. Organic brake pads also wear out faster if you often ride in muddy conditions. As mentioned before, the wear and tear is already greatly reduced compared to the previous model. Yet these K03S Resin brake pads remain less wear-resistant than pads with a harder compound.
In short, if you mainly use your bike in summer, then you have the perfect choice with these organic brake pads. However, if you use the bike mainly in the winter, or if you regularly go to hilly/mountainous areas, then you'd better go for Semi-Metallic brake pads.
