Steco Monkey Mee

After 5 years of use on the previous bike, the old one wasn't broken yet, but not nice enough to put on a new one. So bought a new one anyway, but so long-lasting.

My son started secondary school with a bag that must weigh half as much as he does, so I was looking for a carrier that would allow him to carry his bag safely on his bike. The Steco Monkey Mee luggage rack is perfect: his bag is held securely on the rack, the strap is easy to attach, it's adjustable, it's stable, the straps on the bag don't fall into the spokes, and the rear light remains clearly visible. I was so pleased with it that I bought one for myself, which I use for the velotaf and also for my badminton bag, which I put horizontally and secure with a turnbuckle. I've done the shopping with it too, it's stable and the bag is well secured.

I bought the carrier for my son's bike, who at 11 years old doesn't want to have a basket. Since the satchel is very heavy and he is not motor-skilled enough to attach it to a normal carrier, I decided to use this bracket. My son can easily attach the satchel to it, it has never fallen off and is stable on the holder. I was able to attach the bracket on my own in just a few minutes. I can only recommend the holder and the shipping was very quick and problem-free.

In daily use with a heavy bag. Excellent quality!

With a new bike comes of course a backpack carrier as my son calls it. Occasionally we cycle to school, 10 km there and back and then this comes in handy . Had to look carefully how to mount it. But it worked. To secure the bag on there is a click system. Very handy when you need to take your bag and gym bag you make it bigger

I was very skeptical and am really positively surprised. It holds very well on the bike. I personally have it mounted the other way around, so it feels safer to me. It is designed so that it can not be stolen so quickly, that is convenient. Really recommended, I would buy it again!

I needed a mount for my duty backpack, this one seemed perfect. But since it was only a picture in the store I had but slight doubts. But ordered since the entire picture and the specified dimensions have harmonized. He arrived I saw him and knew immediately that fits. The backpack varies in weight between 8-11 kg . Since I thought whether potholes hold him? Yes he does all in all Perfect for my use.

Mounting it was a tricky job though, especially since the instructions are not super clear (rack I have is smaller so I had to do the mounting the other way around). In the end it worked and it is easy to use, the bag stays in place.

special tool to attach it is not in description. This is quite inconvenient especially if you don't have it in your home. ordered before a certain time and delivered next day, is not correct. Should be adjusted on site.

Tip: On an electric bike, the battery gets in the way when you want to screw the nuts on. Instead of the nuts, you can use black cable ties for this purpose.

This carrier is only suitable for carrying (not too large) school backpacks upright, provided you use another strap: As is well known, it is too slippery for the buckle used and thus quickly becomes loose; backpack with laptop dropped.... Upright means: Only for girls bikes, because you can't get your leg over the backpack when getting off. Who will make a longer carrier, with slightly raised sides (fold out?) and a sturdy clamp, that can hold a backpack flat?

The Monkey Mee mounts well however, due to the construction of the luggage rack, we had to move it far back to find a spot where it would fit. This could have been avoided by supplying narrower claws.

What a handy thing this is. My 13-year-old son attached it to his bike himself, so easy to fit. Bag is secure, even when tilting the bike it doesn't fall off. It saves a lot of time getting the bag on the bike properly, as it is attached with one click, so ideal. In short, satisfied!

The school bag holder is great, but much too heavy. Made of aluminium, it would also do the job. You pay a lot of money for a light children's bike, only to attach about 1.5 kg to it. Too bad.

Indispensable for transporting those big backpacks with laptops decently on the bike. The Monkey Mee is a neat bracket, which doesn't look so clunky and yet is secure. Nice that the strap is attached. Often a spider is still handy. Too bad that no rubber or other protection for the luggage carrier is included for attachment. The clamps easily damage the paintwork.

Recently purchased a Monkey meedragen for my daughter. Is a super handy carrier on which the school bag can be easily secured. The bag can just be put upright. Highly recommended!
