Excellent overshoe for temperatures 0-5 degrees

- Jack, 15 January, 2023

Ridden 2x more now. Only on the road bike in 0-5 degree temperatures and a little rain. The neoprene ankle pieces provide a nice seal against rain/mud/sagging. I initially bought them because they can be used on both road bike and mountain bike shoes. They have a nice connected fit and are easy to put on. The disadvantage is that the bottom of your shoes remain open. I have colder feet at this time of year anyway, so that problem remains.

Pros & Cons

Fits both race and mountain bike shoes
Neoprene pieces against rain
Nice fit
The open bottom still causes cold feet

really an excellent basic for colder temperatures

- Mieke, 11 December, 2022

Used for the first time in temperatures just above zero: very nice that your ankles are covered. Good value for money for the beginning cyclist. Cold feet after 25 km, so for really winter temperatures maybe take a different model? easy to clean. no experience in wet weather yet.... My shimano size 39 shoes goes size M just over. I get that it has to be tight, but it does become a struggle with a larger size (especially if you come back from cycling with cold hands).

Pros & Cons

Great for the starting cyclist
price-quality ratio
size M fits shoes size 39

Almost right.

- Hans, 6 January, 2022

I kept them for the nice fit but actually they are basically no good. The strap will sit over your cleat. I asked the local cobbler to move the Velcro strap. The photos speak for themselves. Cost 6.50 euros.

Pros & Cons

Fit
Velcro strap sits over spd

A lot of money for mediocre quality.

Unfortunately, after 2 winters of riding with these overshoes, I already need new ones because these GripGrab RaceThermo X are already completely written off. This surprises me a little as you would expect such a product to last longer than two winters. At least 5 winters or so. Hence only 2 stars out of 5 But already during the first winter the front strap of the right overshoe, which makes sure the overshoe fits tightly over the shoe at the front, came loose (irritating, but you can still cycle with it except when it's really cold and you get cold toes); during the second winter the seam, which connects the top to the bottom, came loose at the back (difficult to put on and water gets into the overshoe) and now at the beginning of the third autumn/winter the inner lining of the left shoe is coming loose, making putting it on very irritating. Also, the material on the outside is damaged (on the inside of my foot) . Will probably be because I spin against the bike with it, but it should be able to withstand that too). In other words, these overshoes are no success for me. I wouldn't recommend them.

Pros & Cons

Good fit
Warm
Waterproof
Difficult to put on
Quick to break down

My husband is very happy with it

- Marian, 8 January, 2021

Fits nicely, top edge is closed, you put these on like a sock so first over your foot/leg. Velcro start underneath, enough room to put on well (did order one size bigger than shoes). Good windproof, nice and warm. Waterproofing not extensively tested due to not riding in rain or wet roads. Velcro is more convenient than a zip that has to be pulled (which means you also pull on the material, which can then break sooner). Reinforced sole for less rapid wear when walking. Look nice.

Pros & Cons

Beautiful material
Fitting
Reinforced sole

- Bert, 28 December, 2020

Finest overshoe so far. Easy to put on, fits tight. Also stays on well while cycling. Feet stay warm and dry if you have closed the shoes themselves at the bottom. Durability remains to be seen, but they make a solid impression. As usual, fast and accurate delivery from Mantel.
