Sturdy and solid

Rode 50 km with this helmet, which was quite light and comfortable. It was well ventilated, I didn't sweat. The build and quality are excellent. I like that design. I've looked in a lot of places but they're all out, except here at mantel so I grabbed it. Best value for money helmet on the market.The sizing was also perfect, my head diameter 59cm fits perfectly, no tightness, comfortable. In addition allow the attachment of glasses.

Needed a new helmet after an accident. So a fitting session at Mantel. Had to be a helmet with MIPS. Fitted various models, this helmet felt right "in one go". Expert and friendly service.

It's my first ever cycling helmet, therefore I'm not able to do any comparisons. I can say it's exactly as described on the site and in the online reviews. It stays fixed on the head thanks to the adjustment mechanism on the back and the straps. It feels very light, I don't notice much difference with the helmet on vs no helmet. I used the helmet for about 60-70 km in the past month and I've enjoyed it very much.

I have had this helmet for over 4 years. Fits well and is comfortable in both hot and cold weather conditions. After a fall - where the helmet protected my head well - I bought the same helmet again.

I can't mention MIPS as a minus point, but I'm not convinced by the system. It may not "harm", but wrschnlk not "benefit" either, ttz does not really offer any added value in my opinion.

It is a fine helmet with a pleasant wearing comfort. Have had it in use for several weeks now on both road bike and MTB. Because of the number of vents, there is good ventilation. The strap is easy to adjust and can be made larger and smaller via a button at the back. Have not been able to discover any negative points

Am not a fan of MIPS... Makes the helmet especially heavier, and significantly reduces wearing comfort... Am also not convinced of the benefits of MIPS (at least not for leisure athletes who take fewer risks anyway)... But nowadays you can hardly find quality helmets "without"

Fits my head quite well and has a good range of adjustment. My head measures exactly in the middle of the fit range which really helps. Matte white looks great, actually it’s a few different white / silver colours and this give some texture. The thing is a sweat bucket. This is my 1st MIPS helmet and I think that additional layer of plastic contributes to the sweat. Any time I change position from tops or hoods to drops or standing the gathered sweat pours out. Review written in winter after 15 approximately 1 hour rides. If I lost this I would buy another one without hesitation because it fits my head very comfortably.

Excellent and safe helmet, I fully recommend it, only the 2nd time wearing, I came off my bike and luckily the helmet gave me full protection which I was very grateful for as banged my head!

After 7 years, it was time to replace my 'old helmet' (a 'd alto) for a fresh one. Tyres were starting to fray and pads inside were running out. Several sites told me that the shell quality would also deteriorate with time. So in search of a fresh one. Reading a lot of tests and reviews made me end up with this helmet. The helmet has a very nice design. Compared to my old helmet, it is much larger, especially in width. Yet it is very lightweight. The fit is very nice and even after riding for several hours, the helmet is still comfortable. Actually, you don't notice that you have it on. Above 35 km per hour, the helmet starts to whistle a bit in wind from the front. Quite irritating. Not yet discovered what the cause and thus the solution is.

I chose this helmet n.a.v. fit and MIPS. the helmet has a nice matt (black) finish. when wearing the helmet, I personally do not experience any irritation and the helmet feels very natural.

My first cycling helmet and immediately a nice one. Lightweight, you hardly notice you are wearing it. Good ventilation so comfortable to wear in summer too. With MIPS, so extra good protection. The only downside is that there is no mesh in the ventilation holes, so the occasional fly gets in. But definitely recommended!

Very happy with it. Fits well with good adjustment. Nice and light and we'll ventilated. I was right between the medium and large size, went for the medium and was the right choice.

All round good fit and safe feel but chin strap not the easiest to get on with, tight around the gullet but may be my shaped head/face!

I just recently got into cycling and was after my first helmet. I had read really good reviews about the Giro helmets and there were a few to choose from in the range. I eventually went for the Giro Cinder MIPS, as it has the MIPS system, is aero dynamic, stylish and is competitive on price. It’s really comfortable adjustable and I can pop a cap on underneath if I need to. Very happy with this product, would recommend.

Have hated wearing helmets in the past but this has converted me! Great fit, comfortable and decent ventilation. Have done several 100+km rides since buying and had no issues with comfort etc.

I’ve had two of these helmets. The first one saved my life when I was taken out by a Range Rover. I landed on my head, going from 30mph to zero instantly. When not crashing, it’s light, very well ventilated and comfortable (just done 17 hours with it on for the UK Coat to Coast).

This is the most comfortable helmet I've had. Fully recomend it.

Good looking helmet with great adjustment - the straps can be adjusted to tilit the helmet back or forwards and the rear cradle raises or lowers to cup the rear of your head when the dial snugs it up. Very comfortable when time is taken to adjust it to suit. Spare pads are available. The straps do seem a little stiff, but I am sure that they'll soften in use. MIPS is supposed to make my head a bit safer but hope I never have to test that claim. Excellent price from Mantel. Would buy again.

The Giro Cinder is a really nice,well priced and very comfortable helmet that also looks very very cool with it's red,black and white design.The service from Mantel was excellent so all in all i'm very happy with my purchase.

This helmet is simple, low-profile. Love it. Very comfortable.

It's an absolutely cracking piece of kit. Granted, not the lightest helmet on the market, but it's got the aesthetics of Giro's pro-level lids and there's extra piece of mind with the MIPS. Colour-wise, it's also beautiful. Never found another helmet in such a smart shade of green. I'm also pleasantly surprised by the size. I've got a big head, so I need the largest size of helmet. But, unlike other brands I've gone for in the past, this doesn't look massive on my head.

Strap slightly stiff but not an issue

Brought Yellow one to be highly visible over the winter months, it is very comfortable, easy to adjust, slightly reduced airflow over my Synthe to keep my head a bit warmer. Overall a great helmet that I'd recommend.

Like the styling though purchased this predominantly for the MIPS technology (which hopefully I'll never need to appreciate). Very comfortable with an easy toggle at the rear of the helmet to adjust tension around the head.

i liked the way my old giro savant fitted so i thought i would stick with giro and the cinder seemed to fit the bill nicely for colour, looks and my price point and i was not disappointed. the roc loc 5 is nice to adjust and fine tune fit, weather mips works or not i don't know but it can't heart. dose look a bit mushroomie but i think most helmets do. mantel were great good price, packed well and fast delivery

I have bought the fleuro yellow version to replace an old Atmos which had server me well for the last few years. This Cinder fits so much better than I expected and the colour helps me be seen better. The only downside is that it does have the mushroom effect, whether this is due to the mips cage or if it is the helmet itself. In saying that I have gotten a lot of compliments on it.

First impressions are good, I bought a Giro due to the fit. Comfortable and appears to be good quality. This helmet seems to be less well ventilated than my previous one - Specialized Prevail. Overall - very pleased

Another quality product from Giro. Helmet fits snugly and is comfortable and lightweight. MIPS provides added reassurance and yellow adds a splash of visibility to mainly black attire. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a helmet around the £100 region

Bought the helmet as a crash replacement for a Giro Savant. The Cinder is great from a high viz perspective, the MIPs should hopefully keep my brain safe and it's very comfortable. The helmet also looks very good and will help keep me visible.

This feels great on the head. It is much lighter than my old lid, with much better vision when in the drops. The tightener is easy to use. My single concern, as I am near the upper limit for the size I bought, is how to fit a headband or balaclava under it, but trying a headband in the house suggests it will not be too much of a problem with a thin material.

This helmet felt comfortable as soon as I put it on for the first time. There's plenty of ventilation and in my opinion I think it actually looks better than the considerably more expensive Giro Synthe. The helmet was about £30 cheaper on the Mantel website than anywhere else on the internet and it arrived two days after ordering it....great service.
