Mounting is easy. You clamp it to the rear right dropout of the frame, the same as you would with a quick release. The chain keeps its tension that way.

This device is easy to use and makes rear wheel changes much simpler. Especially useful on my track bike - it retains the chain while the rear wheel is not in the frame.
