Description
The Vision SC 55 road bike wheels are a nice addition to the carbon racing wheel range from Vision. With a depth of 55 mm, the aerodynamic SC 55 is the "big brother" of more all-round Vision SC 40 wheels. The SC 55 version has a 55 mm deep aerodynamic carbon rim for use on flat or hilly terrain; as long as it is at high speed! The Vision SC 55 carbon wheels have been developed using extensive wind tunnel testing and on the road with professional cyclists from Vision's sponsored teams. With a weight of 1650 grams, the wheels are quite light for high carbon wheels. Vision has managed to find a nice balance between low weight, aerodynamics and comfort.
The Vision SC 55 full carbon rims are tubeless ready so that you can ride with latex and tubeless outer tubes without an inner tube. With a rim width of 19 mm the rims are quite wide, which makes it possible to ride wide tyres on the SC 55s. The ability to ride both tubeless and with wide tyres increases comfort, reduces the risk of punctures and also provides more grip and lower rolling resistance. The Vision hubs are of high quality and have maintenance-free sealed industrial bearings. Vision has used flat, aerodynamic straight pull spokes. This adds to the stiffness and speed. Vision wheels are hand-spoked and use self-locking spoke nipples. This keeps the spokes perfectly in place many times longer and the ideal spoke tension is maintained for a long time. Quality guaranteed!
• Vision rim tape (pre-assembled)
• Vision QR-25 Quick Release tensioners
• Valve extenders
• Brake pads for carbon
• (possibly a torque wrench)
Installing a cassette on a wheel is easy if you have the right tools. If you purchase a cassette remover with a Shimano fit, you will be able to mount either a Shimano or Sram cassette on your rear wheel. Please note! For a Campagnolo cassette you need the Campagnolo tool. If you have a Shimano 9/10-speed cassette, first slide the spacer over the body. Then you place the cassette on the body. This can only be done in one way because of the fit of the body. Finally you turn the washer straight on by hand and tighten it with the cassette tool. Cassettes aren’t easily overtightened, but if you want you can use a torque wrench for this.
• For Shimano 9/10-speed, do not forget to mount the spacer first before installing the cassette.
• Make sure the rim tape is stuck well in the rim.
