Description
The Trek Checkpoint ALR 5 Driftless is a very nice gravel bike for any cyclist who very much enjoys challenging off-road adventures.
Really adventurous
Trek has created a gravel bike that will give you lots of off-road adventure. A versatile frame, extensive standard equipment, high-quality equipment and refined geometry will get you lots of comfortable off-road kilometres.
The basis of this gravel bike is the lightweight aluminium frame. The geometry ensures stable handling in a straight line but is also agile at low speeds. The cables are integrated into the frame, so they are well protected from splashing gravel and other dirt. In addition, you have access to a carbon fork. This will handle bumps and potholes properly, so you will keep control of the bike even at high speeds.
Special gravel parts
This bike is equipped with a high-quality 1x11 speed Shimano GRX drivetrain. This drivetrain is specially made for riding over gravel and therefore shifts very reliably. This bike has a 1x11 drivetrain and an 11-42 cassette. This gives you a very wide gear range, which also allows you to get up steep gravel roads in a comfortable gear. Braking is done with Shimano hydraulic disc brakes. These deliver very powerful braking performance, even in tough conditions. In addition, these brakes are very easy to dose, allowing you to cut corners in a controlled manner.
Versatile to use
Trek has developed a gravel bike that is versatile to use. That's because you have huge tyre clearance, so you can fit tyres up to 45c. In addition, the rims on this bike are tubeless ready, making it possible to ride tubeless. Tubeless riding gives lower rolling resistance and higher puncture resistance. This bike also has several attachment points to which you can mount carriers and frame bags. As standard, the Driftless already comes with a very nice frame bag, with the same graphic design as the frame!
Dropperpost
The Driftless also comes with a dropperpost. This allows you to explore even more challenging terrain. Besides being able to lower the seatpost, it also has 50 mm of suspension travel so it provides extra riding comfort that way.
