Description

Description

This bundle is the ultimate indoor trainer kit and includes the Tacx Flux S Smart cycle trainer, HRM-Dual heart rate monitor, Tacx Training Mat and 6 months of Tacx Premium Software. The Tacx Flux S Smart T2900S turbo trainer is known for its excellent price-quality ratio. It’s ideal for road cyclists and mountainbikers looking for a reliable trainer so they can keep training indoors.

The Flux S Smart trainer is the successor of the popular Tacx Flux T2900. Now that the shape of the Flux S has been adapted, it is also suitable for road bikes with a long cage derailleur. Also, the Tacx Flux S' motor has been further improved to make it even quieter during training sessions.

One of the quietest turbo trainers available
The Flux S Smart is one of he quietest trainers out there. Therefore, it is the ideal trainer to use in a noisy environment.

The Flux S Smart’s integrated power meter has an accuracy of up to 3 percent. This makes it ideal for cyclists who love to train with FTP, wattage and Watt/kg.

Wide range of training options
The Flux S Smart has a maximum resistance capacity of 1500 Watts. In addition, the Smart S can simulate inclines with a percentage increase of up to 10%. The electronic brake enables automatic adjustment of training resistance. This allows you to precisely simulate climbs for a very realistic experience.

Connecting to software and devices
With ANT+ and Bluetooth signals you can quickly and easily connect to other devices, applications and software. Thanks to the ANT+ FE-C protocol you can allow for the turbo trainer to be controlled by Tacx apps or third party apps like Zwift. The trainer can also be used stand-alone. When it's not connected to other devices or software, the Tacx Flux will simulate a level road.

Including Garmin HRM-Dual heart rate monitor
With this Garmin heart rate monitor, you receive real-time training data about your heart rate on your favourite training devices. The heart rate monitor easily attaches with a strap around your chest. Here, it measures the electrical activity of your heart's beating. The Garmin HRM-Dual's real-time heart rate data gives you the most accurate training information, allowing you to optimally adjust your performance. Via ANT+ and Bluetooth connections, you can easily pair the heart rate monitor with your Garmin device, online training programmes like Zwift, compatible fitness equipment at your favourite gym and your smartphone, for example.

Including Tacx Trainermat
The Tacx Trainermat ensures you can train worry-free. It protects your floor from damage by the trainer and from sweat dripping onto the floor. It also dampens noise to keep the rest of the house and neighbours happy. The mat is easy to fold and lightweight.

Technology

Internal Adjustments: The internal mechanics have been redesigned to improve bike feel and power measurement.
Accessible Trainer: The Flux S Smart is an accessible Direct Drive Trainer with a wide range of Smart functions.
Reliable and Accurate: Reliable, accurate and consistent power measurement is key to monitoring performance and progress. This is exactly what the Flux S is made to do- power measurements with a maximum deviation of 3 percent.
Completely connected: The Flux S Smart pairs wirelessly with ANT+ (FE-C) and Bluetooth Smart. This allows you to connect the bicycle trainer to your favourite applications quickly and easily.
Get started right away: You can also train on the Flux S Smart without being connected to software programs. Click in your bike, and you're ready to go.
Firmware updates: With the Tacx Utility app you can easily update the firmware to its most recent version. This way you can always use the latest improvements. You will receive an automatic notification when a new update is available.
Cycling feeling:The Flux S Smart is equipped with a 7 kilogram flywheel. This gives you a realistic cycling experience.
Very quiet flywheel: Like the earlier version of the Flux Smart, this trainer is also designed to minimise vibrations and noise. The Flux S Smart is one of the quietest bike trainers with a flywheel on the market.
Stable construction: A well balanced design ensures maximum stability, even in the most explosive sprints.
Connection Indicators: LED indicators on the side of the Flux S Smart indicate when its turned on and connected to a device via ANT+ or Bluetooth.

Tacx Desktop App Premium Account: Step into the world of virtual cycling environments with Tacx Desktop App Premium. This will make indoor training more fun than ever before. Ride famous racing classics, climbs and other special routes around the world. Compete against your friends or other participants for the podium places, ride the most beautiful routes and receive live data of your performance (cadence, speed and power). Training indoors has become more realistic than ever with the Tacx Desktop App Premium!

Virtual speed: To enable riders with mechanical brakes and electric brakes to compete against each other via Multiplayer, Tacx has developed virtual speed. This concept translates the delivered energy into a speed, to guarantee a fair competition. If this speed deviates from the rotation speed of the rear wheel, the display will show the virtual speed in red. This is a great feature to have when you are competing on Zwift or whilst training in TrainerRoad or Kinomap.

Frequently asked questions

Will my bike with disc brakes fit this Tacx Turbo Trainer?
Yes, disc brakes are no problem. However, it is important that the axle fits correctly. The trainer comes standard with adapters for 142x12mm and 148x12mm thru-axles. These adapters are used in combination with your bike's axle.

What cassette do I need for my trainer?
You will need the same type of cassette as your bike for smooth gear shifting. The only remaining question is whether it will fit your trainer. To determine this, we look at the brand of the cassette and the number of teeth. Does your bike have a Shimano or SRAM cassette? And one with 8 to 11 sprockets? Then your cassette will fit without any additional requirements. Depending on the cassette, you may need to place a number of spacers on the trainer body. Do you have a SRAM 12 speed drivetrain? Then you first need to install this SRAM XD/XD-R body. Do you have a 12 speed Shimano cassette? Then you need to install this Micro-Spline Body first.

Can I use my Campagnolo equipped bike with this trainer?
Yes, you can with 9-12 speed groupsets. However, you will need to replace the default body with this Campagnolo body first.

What tools do I need to install a cassette on my Tacx?
To install your cassette, you will need a chain whip and a cassette remover. These tools can be found here.

Can I use my bike with Campagnolo in combination with this trainer?
Yes, you can with 9-12 speed groups. But you will first need to install this Campagnolo body on your bike trainer.

What wheel sizes are suitable for this trainer?
28- and 29-inch wheel sizes are suitable for this trainer. Do you have a smaller wheel size? Then you will need a front wheel support to use the trainer.

Top device for training indoors in the winter months!

- Roxanne 22 November 2022

What a top thing! Installing the cassette took some puzzling (I'm not that handy), but the device itself was in no time. Connects easily via bluetooth to all apps and the heart rate belt. Very realistic workout, in terms of power and resistance. Connects seamlessly with apps like Zwift. Also many times quieter than I expected! Device stands firmly, even if you stand up or put a bit more power. Device is quite heavy, and therefore stands nice and firm, but not useful if you want to store it somewhere after each workout. Top device for training indoors during the winter months, great value for money.

Pros & Cons

Easy to install
Makes little noise
Stands very firmly
Quite heavy, so not easy to move
