Technology
Degelijke afmontage met een groot schakelbereikDe Scott Scale 980 beschikt over een Shimano Deore 12-speed groepset. De Shadow Plus achterderailleur en de Rapidfire Plus technologie op de shifters zorgen er niet alleen voor dat je heel erg snel en soepel schakelt, maar ook dat jij beschikt over de juiste versnellingen om een veelzijdig terrein te trotseren. Deze schakelgroep is geschikt voor hoge snelheden op de afdalingen, of om met een hoog cadans te rijden voor de steile klimmen.
Suntour voorvork met Remote lock-out
Een groot deel van je rijplezier op de Scott Scale 980 komt van de degelijke Suntour XCR32 RL-R voorvork. Hiermee rij je vlot over boomwortels en andere oneffenheden. Op je stuur zit een lock-out om de voorvork vast te zetten met meerdere travel-opties. Dit is handig voor een beklimming of als je over asfalt rijdt.

Top bike for a beginning MTBer, absolutely worth its money!
This bike is perfect for a beginner, was able to try several brands in the spacious store. This one worked best for the budget I wanted to spend. Had grips put on at an additional cost, also purchased a water bottle and holder. Meanwhile also fenders, an expensive helmet, bell. The bike can be built the way you want it. Nice colors, only the handlebars I tried but they were really too wide, Mantel shortened them for me free of charge after 2 weeks, now they are exactly as I wanted.

Excellent MTB for the beginner
My new Scott Scale 980 was delivered in a giant box that was damaged in a few places in transit, fortunately I found no damage to the bike. Assembly was fairly simple; just straighten and tighten the handlebars, mount pedals, put a little air in the tires and go. The bike rides excellent, although I had to spend some time searching for a good sitting position. The only downside I found is that the seatpost clamp can't do enough to keep the saddle at the right height. I tighten the quick release as best I can and then use an imbus to tighten it a little further so it sits firmly. Another minor issue was a creak in the seat post, but that too has since been fixed with some mounting paste. The handling of this bike is excellent, the suspension and suspension lock are fine tuned. The Maxxis Rekon tires are not 100 percent suitable for the terrain I ride most of the time, but that's something for later.

MTB that I would definitely recommend
Very happy with this purchase, every week I cycle MTB routes in different places in the Netherlands. Nice that it has 12 gears, especially when you have more altitude difference. In my opinion the saddle is a bit hard for the longer routes. Compliments for the good service from Mantel!

Excellent entry-level MTB
Great MTB that also looks very good. Would buy it right back. Everything works perfectly, already tested in various and demanding conditions. Haven't discovered any drawbacks yet.
