Good value for money

- Edward, 22 October, 2023

My shifters are M8000 but fit well with this M8100 brake lever, the m8000 adapter to connect the two is eliminated with the m8100. Quality is good and braking power is sufficient, I may need to bleed the rear brake after installation for better performance but otherwise fine

Pros & Cons

easy to install and maintain
fluid is already in pipe
good braking power but could be better
brake force could be better
no instruction included so youtube

Fine but you have to have something there

- Patrick, 25 May, 2021

With no manual, I'll have to wander around the internet. The cable is longer so you need a special cable cutter. And it still needs brake fluid, order bleeding kit with it. If you have it complete, it's pretty easy

Pros & Cons

Better than its predecessor M8000
Easy to mount
Bleeding kit is not included
Miss the manual

Progressive and reliable

- MaxiMac, 16 February, 2021

The XT M8100 brakes are progressive and easy to adjust. I hope the reliability will be better than my old XT (after 2 years loss of pressure in the rear caliper).

Pros & Cons

adjustment
easy assembly

Great brakes!

- Menno, 3 August, 2020

Brakes very well metered while blocking is also good. I used to have Magura MT2 brakes which blocked very quickly. (Until they broke)

Pros & Cons

does not lock quickly
easy assembly
Little space needed on handlebars, together with XT shifter
measured braking
Pretty hard squeeze to lock.
