Good band but there are some in between that are just too small.
Have already worn out different tyres of this brand but the last one was very difficult to fit and I damaged it in the process. For me, therefore, no more Continentals. A pity, because it is a good tyre with a lot of grip.

Not again :)
New set of front and rear tyres with new tubes. On the outward journey (70km) rear tyre punctured (small tear in tyre as big as pinky nail), can happen. On the return journey next day front tyre punctured. In short, not this set again for me. Only rode asphalt. Was 33 degrees though, maybe that was it?

very tight band, doesn't always fit nicely.
tire is too tight, therefore it does not fit well on all wheels. I had the 23mm myself, they also don't fall well with ffwd wheels, making you bump while riding. It also didn't fit on my time trial wheel because it was too tight. If you get a flat with this in winter, it becomes quite impossible (with cold hands) to change your tire.

A bit expensive, too bad.
Very excited at the idea of installing them when I find them cheaper from competitors. To be avoided for the city.

beautiful, but tears quickly
1 tire had a crack within 1000 kilometers. New tire ordered, again a tear and puncture after 1 ride (just on the road). Next time something else for me anyway.

Torn after 8 months
2 tires cracked all along the sidewalls 8 months and 1000 km after purchase. 40€ tire to throw in the garbage. Yet I adjust the pressure once a week and store the bike in a cellar at a fairly constant temperature and out of the sun. If not, it grips well even on wet ground or in tight corners. But it's a waste of money. I don't recommend it.

Doubtful
Normally really very satisfied with these tires. Now in need of a new tire for the 2nd time in 6 weeks, due to tearing at the seam. No idea what is happening here, but it really seems like a production error now. Walking home also gets boring, even when the sun is shining, so really going to try something else now.

Fast but limp tire
Always been a big fan of Continental GPs, but the love is starting to cool quickly. Already got sidewall cracks on a couple of zgan new tires. Quality is not what it used to be....

Unworthy successor to the GP4000. I ride legendarily flat.
I have been cycling for 20 years and ride 10,000 km a year. For years I rode Schwalbe Ultremo (now Schwalbe One) and GP 4000 and had +- 2 punctures a year. Since about 2 years I ride GP 5000 and never had so many punctures ! On average after 1000 to 2000 km. Very quickly cracks appear in the tire which fill up with small stones. Also little grip in wet weather. For me this is a highly overrated tire and I have switched back to Schwalbe One.

A band I didn't enjoy for as long as I had hoped.
The tire did not last as long as expected. Max thousand kilometers lasted in dry weather. Ridden in wet weather, rear tire was full of small bits of damage, some through the casing. Not the tire with the best experience for me.

Runs well but poor puncture resistance
The tire runs well. The puncture resistance of this tire of this brand is greatly reduced. In 3 days 3x punctures. Despite checking the tire very carefully for mini pebbles

Doesn't last long!
Could replace front and rear 2x in three months due to deep cuts through the kevlar! Absolutely not puncture resistant and durable. My previous standard conti grand prix (so not the 5000) lasted for years!

Not satisfied, bought schwalbe
Had 2x crack in sidewall. Never had this with the 4000.

Deformation of tire after 1000km
After 1000 km I notice deformation in the tire. Both in height and width. And yes it lies well on the rim and checked with different tubes. Seems like less care is taken in the production process. Been riding conti for 10+ years and also the 4 seasons which are a lot better.

For me never again
Within a year cracking and puncturing. I was very satisfied with the Continental 4000 but not this one for me anymore

Not everything used to be better but the GP 4000 certainly was
Ridden the 4000 for years. This is a steep drop in durability compared to that.

Nice but not 25mm and thus not the desired or expected tire
This 25mm is less wide than my previous 25mm. This one rather 23mm. So gives much less comfort. Wonder if a 28mm would then match a 25 from before?????

No improvement over predecessor
Setback in that this tire is less comfortable and wears faster than the GP 4000 SII

Cycles great, but punctures way too quickly!
After previously cycling very many kilometers without problems on the GP4000, last year I switched to the GP5000. In the meantime we are already on the 2nd set. Not because they are so pleasant, but because they leak very quickly. This is definitely my last set of GP5000 because I hardly dare to make a long trip on this set anymore. It may be bad luck, but as I read I am not the only one with this experience.

Good service Mantel, quality Contain
Driven less than 1,000 km with it. Now in last 200 km, punctured three times....

Mwah, mediocre band
Fine tire, but can't remotely match the gp4000s2. That tire lasted around 4500 km without puncturing too often. The 5k significantly more

Good racing tire
There is almost no way to put the tire on properly. Ended up costing me 2 tubes and 2 plastic tire levers. Then took it to the bike shop. He even had to use an auxiliary tool to put the tires on. Next time I will buy the 4000 series.

Rubber flies off at emergency stop
Have always driven Conti for its wear and puncture resistance, this has unfortunately been lost to achieve low weight. During an emergency stop, where normally only a flat spot appears on the tread, a large piece of rubber broke out. In 8500km I used up 2 rear tires. No more Continental Grand Prix 5000 for me.

Looking for another band
This tire is worse than its predecessor the GP4000, the rubber is softer. Pebbles etc. will stick to the tire more quickly, and then penetrate inside. Continental, please put the 4000 back on the market.

Way too stiff to mount
Mounting it on my carbon rims is almost no do, even the bike shop couldn't get it done. How am I ever supposed to get it off my rims again? No idea. Meanwhile it cycles fine, but so stiff is really not ok.

Poor quality won’t buy again
I have had the GP 4000’s for years and have sworn by them. The 5000’s have a very very thin sidewall and ruptured on my first ride. The ride itself was good and the grip too was good but the paper thin walls mean they are useless. I have read that this is a common problem.
