The only negative is the fiddly assembly (but you could already guess that from the product pictures) and, above all, the use of Torx screws. The side "saddle wings" cover the screw somewhat, so you can't use the tool straight. Hexagon socket would certainly be the better choice here, as I'm sure many people have the Allen ball head as standard equipment in their bike workshop.
