With a large compartment of no less than 20 liters, you have enough space to transport all your belongings. The Back Roller Free also has an extra inner compartment and a mesh pocket with a zipper for smaller items that you do not want to be left loose in the bag, such as keys, cards or a wallet. Furthermore, thanks to the waterproof material and lockable roll closure, the contents remain almost always dry.

The Ortlieb Back Roller Free is not only a high-quality bicycle bag, but can also be easily converted into a shoulder bag thanks to the combination of the Quick-lock 3.1 system and the supplied shoulder strap. This makes the Back Roller Free ideal for shopping. Day trips are also made easier because you can easily take all your things with you from your bike.

Quick lock 3.1The Quick-lock 3.1 system differs from most fastening systems in that the components for securing the bicycle bag are on the luggage carrier, and not on the bicycle bag itself. As a result, the bicycle bag has no components or hooks that protrude from the back of the bag. The bicycle bag is also easy to secure with the QL 3.1 system. You support the bag on the lower attachment point and with a sideways movement you lock the upper attachment points. To release the bag, do the same, but the other way around. Obviously, this system is adjustable at several points, so that there is almost no luggage carrier which does not fit onto.
IP64
The Ortlieb Back Roller Free has an IP64 rating. This means that this bicycle bag is almost completely dust-proof and splash-proof. So you don't have to worry about the contents getting wet in a rain shower.

Fine quality bicycle bag. Lacks an anti-theft system.
Fine quality bicycle bag. Thanks to the QL3.1 system, you easily remove the bag from the bike in one move. The bag has enough capacity for most things and thanks to the various pockets, you can keep the things in the bag neatly organised. Rolling up the bag requires some getting used to and is a bit more complicated than with most panniers. But this makes the bag truly waterproof. The biggest disadvantage of the bag is that there is no anti-theft system available (yet) for the QL3.1 system, while this is available for the QL2.1 system. For a bag costing almost €100, I would not only expect a theft protection system to be available, but also that it would come as standard with every bag.

Very nice bag for daily use.
I use the bag for commuting and shopping. It holds a lot and the bag is really waterproof so you don't have to worry about a rain shower. The handy click system makes it easy to attach the bag to the bike and you don't have to worry about it coming loose when you ride over a bump. Very nice bag to use and solid quality.
