Compared to a men's bike, a women's mountain bike has some adaptations that make it more suitable for the average body shape of a woman. The top tube of the frame is often mounted lower and is shorter than on a men's bike. The saddle of a women's bike is often wider, because of the average difference in seat bone width between women and men. In addition, the handlebars are often narrower, due to the narrower shoulder width. In general, this is accompanied by a more women-oriented colour scheme.
