The Gazelle Chamonix C5 HMS is a perfect bike for daily commuting, but also for longer recreational rides. Because with this electric bike, you'll want to explore your entire surroundings.
Sporty geometry, comfort-enhancing components.
The frame of the Gazelle Chamonix C5 HMS has a sporty geometry. This means you sit slightly bent in an active position. This gives you a sporty and stable feel on this e-bike, which you also notice in the good steering behaviour. But does this mean that this electric touring bike is not comfortable? Of course not! After all, the 50 mm wide Schwalbe tyres alone keep out most bumps. But thanks to the suspension fork in the steering head and the suspension seatpost, you won't have to deal with any nasty bumps at all. In addition, if you also consider a good saddle and ergonomic grips, you're sure to enjoy your rides on the Chamonix C5 HMS.
High-end Shimano STEPS technology
This e-bike features a 60Nm Shimano STEPS E6100 mid-drive motor. This brings with it some advantages. The power from this motor builds up a bit slower, so you won't experience extreme strong pedal assistance right away when cycling away. On the other hand, the peak power is relatively high, allowing a lot of power to be delivered for a short time. So that pesky bike bridge is no longer a problem. Furthermore, this bike is perfect for tackling hills. You can choose from 2 different high-capacity batteries. So the choice is actually between a long range (up to 160 kilometres) and an even longer range (up to 180 kilometres). So with this electric bike, you can take long rides and not have to recharge as often.

The drivetrain of the Gazelle Chamonix C5 HMS houses 2 major pluses. First is the 5 speed Shimano Nexus internal hub gear. This hub manages to harness the power of an e-bike better than other internal hub gears, making it very efficient. The gear range is not inferior to a 7 speed hub. In addition, the Nexus 5 hub is very robust and reliable. These properties actually also apply to the Gates CDX belt drive. Compared to a chain, a belt drive is more efficient, reliable and quiet. Of course, there are hydraulic disc brakes on this high-quality e-bike. High braking power under all conditions is therefore guaranteed.
