Pros & Cons

Pros & Cons

  • The Ceramic Hybrid bearings feature oversized ceramic balls (grade 5) for even lower friction than standard ABEC 5 bearings.
  • The bearings have LLB double seals against water and dirt and ensure the bearing grease is kept in. This ensures longer maintenance intervals.
  • The balls are treated with very low temperature, this ensures extremely low rolling resistance and longer life.
  • Compared to regular ABEC 5 bearings, the Ceramic Hybrid ABEC 5 bearings are pricey.

GRADE
Bearings balls are classified according to their gradation. A Grade 3 ball means that its tolerance in terms of spherical shape is 3/1,000,000 and as such is extremely round. Another characteristic of a Grade 3 bullet is its surface finish of less than 0.003 microns which, in this case, means no streaks or scratches. The lower the gradation, the better the quality of the ball. The Enduro Bearings ABEC 5 Ceramic Hybrid bearings have grade 5.

ABEC
A standard grade used to measure the surface tolerance of roller bearings. There are five grades: 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9. The higher the ABEC class the greater the precision, efficiency and speed capacity, but the highest ABEC classes are not necessarily the fastest rotating parts. All quality products around the world use at least ABEC 1 as standard. However, at Enduro, the minimum standard is ABEC 3. The Enduro Bearings ABEC 5 Ceramic Hybrid bearings have standard ABEC 5.
