Description
The Cube Hyde Race is the perfect urban bike for anyone who likes to get to their destination quickly and sportily.
Fast and sturdy
Cube has developed a bike that does what you expect it to do, and then some. You'll have access to a smooth and low-maintenance belt drive and excellent brakes. This will make cycling to work, for example, a real pleasure.
The Hyde Race's aluminium frame is made from the same materials as Cube's mountain bikes. Thus, the sports bike can not only take a beating, but the frame is also light and stiff. A light and stiff frame allows you to have stable and direct steering, something that can be very useful in a busy city. Plus, you'll have a tight steering fork that handles road vibrations well.
Shifting and braking
Cube has chosen a Shimano Alfine 8 internal hub gear for this sports bike. These 8-speed groupsets have a 307 per cent gearing range, so you'll be able to cycle in fine gears even on viaducts or in windy conditions. You don't have access to a traditional chain, instead you have a belt drive. A belt drive is very quiet and requires a lot less maintenance than a chain. To come to a stop in time, there are hydraulic disc brakes from Shimano. These brakes are very easy to dose, they also deliver good stopping power. Even when cycling in wet conditions, you can rely on the excellent braking performance of disc brakes.
Versionality
Several mounting points are mounted to the frame, giving you the option to mount stands, mudguards or a luggage carrier. So with some minor adjustments, you can turn your bike even more into a commuter bike, all ready for daily rides to and from work.
