Now available: the brand new “Natural Oat Sport Bar Sweet & Salty Caramel.” An alternative type of sports bar to the current standard, as it contains more fibres and fats. A great addition for endurance athletes.
This bar has been developed in cooperation with the riders of team Etixx-QuickStep. They asked for a bar which would make them feel full for longer on extended endurance rides (over 3 hours).
The bar contains oats instead of wheat which gives it both a great crispy bite and takes longer to digest. The uptake of carbohydrates also takes longer compared to ordinary Energy Sport Bars because of the higher fat content. In other words, this bar is perfectly suitable for prolonged exercise (>3 hours) at low-level intensity, as you'll feel "full" for longer.
Recommended dose: Depleting carbohydrate stores during exercise is one of the main causes of fatigue. Carbohydrate supplementation before and during exercise can improve cycling performance. If the effort lasts longer than 90 minutes, it is recommended to consume extra carbohydrates. It is recommended to consume approximately 1 to 2 energy bars per hour. Or consume an energy bar in combination with other sports nutrition products until an intake of 60 grams of carbohydrates per hour is reached. A common strategy is to consume energy bars during the less intensive phases of exercise. The digestion process of energy bars requires a higher blood flow compared to other sports nutrition products.
Storage advice: Store in a cool, dry place (15-22ºC). Keep out of reach of children.
