The rim width of 27mm external and 19mm internal is based on the closest possible closure with 25mm or 28mm tires. This greatly reduces turbulence and resistance so that you can keep the bike up to speed more easily. Incidentally, it is possible to mount tires from 23 mm to 50 mm. The wheelset is built around aluminum hubs, CNC machined, which support the 24 straight pull spokes, guaranteeing maximum overall rigidity. You notice this both as you are speeding up and braking. The Fulcrum Wind 40 DB is the most versatile choice with a strong focus on aerodynamics for fast, flat, uphill and downhill driving.
Aerodynamics
When developing the Fulcrum Wind 40 rims, the effect of crosswinds and road stability was taken into account. The result is a wheel set that is easier to keep up to speed regardless of the circumstances. You notice this especially when you increase the pace. It takes less effort to keep the wheels straight despite any headwind or crosswind. If "Aerodynamics" and "Versatility" are the first words that come to mind to describe your ideal wheels, you may have to consider the Fulcrum Wind 40 DB wheelset as your first choice.
2-Way Fit
The Fulcrum WInd 40 DB wheels feature the 2-Way Fit technology from Fulcrum. This means that the rims are designed to offer a perfect connection to both clincher and tubeless tires. Moreover, thanks to the Mo-Mag technology, no rim tape is needed to make the rims tubeless. After all, the wheels do not have open spoke holes, but a completely closed rim bed. The Fulcrum Wind 40 DB wheels are therefore ready for use with and without inner tube.

A great pair of aero carbon disc wheels at a great price.
Great looking and well made wheels which I could easily install with tubeless tyres. They are stiff wheels which provide a firm ride which feels fast and responsive, with no noticeable lateral rim movement during hard efforts. Hard to quantify but appear to accelerate quickly and hold speed well. They are not deflected by side winds and the free hub is quiet. A 28 tyre sits flush with the rim. My only negative thoughts are that the tyres seem to lose air more rapidly than other rim/tyre combinations I have, but this may be down to my installation and the amount of sealant used. I know on paper there are lighter wheels and wheels which have wider internal rims which appear to be in vogue but I am uncertain these would make any tangible difference for me who is just a cycling enthusiast. These wheels which I bought from Mantel were a bargain and I have no regrets about my purchase apart from not buying the wind db55 as well.

Great wheels and good service
Never used Mantel before and a little nervous ordering overseas. But the price was the best I could find and they arrived quickly. Very pleased with the wheels themselves. Light well finished and provide a very smooth ride combined with 25mm pro ones. Would have scored higher but the wheels arrived in only the Fulcrum box which had some damage. I would have expected them to have another box to better protect them.

What a difference
I had read that upgrading your wheels can have the biggest improvement on your bikes performance but I was not expecting this level of improvement. Fantastic wheels that feel fast, very fast.

2-WAY FITTubeless's technology initially comes from the car industry, then it was taken over by the motorcycle industry, and finally it has reached the bicycle industry. After its debut in mountain biking, it is now further developed for the application in road cycling.
We have developed the 2-way fit system so that it is also compatible with regular wire and folding tires. The 2-way fit racing wheel sets are very versatile in various situations. Thanks to an edge in the rim, the tubeless tires fit perfectly to ensure maximum sealing. If the valve is positioned correctly, at first it doesn't matter whether the tire is seated completely straight; when the pressure in the tire is increased, the tire will automatically snap into place.
The benefits are unimaginable:
Tests have shown that there is a huge advantage in rolling resistance. Because no inner tube is used, the resistance completely disappears. Tubeless tires suffer nothing when the tire is punctured because of the latex in the tire the gap is filled effortlessly. Blow out or snake bite punctures are a thing of the past and safety is improved. Should it nevertheless be that the puncture is not filled after, for example, a cut in the tire, a normal inner tube can still be fitted so you can get home.
RIM DYNAMIC BALANCE
The concept is simple and elegant: Balancing the wheel with added weight exactly opposite of the valve.
DRSC - DIRECTIONATED RIM-SPOKE COUPLING
Exclusive rim / spoke connection. Makes it possible to get the exact same tension on the rim, spokes, nipples and hub in all circumstances.
MOMAG
A system where the spoke nipples can be replaced with a magnet. This is necessary when there are no spoke holes on the outside of the rim.
ANTI-ROTATION SYSTEM
This new system takes wheel spokes to a higher level. The Fulcrum engineers have adjusted the spokes and hub to create an even stiffer structure. The result is that the spokes:
Never lose their lateral stiffness, so they always stay fully centered. Maintain the tested position from the wind tunnel while driving, for maximum aerodynamic retention.
AFS AXLE SYSTEM
This is the system that Fulcrum developed for mounting the brake discs on the hubs. This fit is made so that centerlock discs perform optimally with regard to dosing and direct braking.
