The Lapierre e-Sensium AL 500 is an electric road bike that handles surprisingly well and looks (almost) exactly like an ordinary road bike.
Enjoy your long rides
A regular road bike or an electric one? In the Lapierre e-Sensium AL 500 it is very difficult to tell which it is! It only has a larger rear hub to give away that it is electric. The slim rear wheel motor makes it easier to finish a climb or to ride against the wind, so you can be more relaxed in the saddle and enjoy your long rides. Whatever your reason for wanting to go electric, this e-road bike will give you every bit of fun you're looking for!
If you're looking for some assistance now and then while cycling without everyone seeing that you're riding an e-road bike, this is your unique choice!
The almost invisible motor is located in the rear wheel of the Lapierre e-Sensium 500. The X35 e-Bike Motion Assist System, as it is officially called, provides very pleasant assist. Even in eco-mode, the motor provides enough support to finish a climb more easily; in such conditions the system gives you some 100 watts extra, which you'll absolutely feel. The motor can deliver up to 250 watts. When the assist is switched off, there is no noticeable difference with a traditional road bike, apart from the extra weight of about 3.5 kilos.
The relatively low battery capacity of 250 Wh gives a rider who weighs 90 kg and only uses the assist when necessary a range of some 80 to 110 km, which is plenty for most rides.
Sturdy and reliable components
The Lapierre e-Sensium 500 is equipped with Shimano's proven 105 quality group. It simply shifts and brakes very well, even in less favourable conditions and under load. With the compact (50x34) crankset and the 11 speed 11-34 cassette, you can always find the right gear whether the assist is off or on.
The aluminium frame of the e-Sensium ensures a comfortable sitting position and pleasant, stable handling. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it!
Versatility
The Lapierre e-Sensium electric road bike can also be used as an everyday commuter bike. The frame has mounting points for attaching accessories such as a rear carrier and mudguards to make it more practical.
