With the Cube Travel Pro, you can go either way. The lightweight frame includes points to mount water bottle cages, making a long ride doable. In addition, lowriders can be mounted to the fork, for use as a trekking bike on holiday. But for everyday use, this sporty hybrid bike is also perfect. A ride to the supermarket or the daily commute to work, this bike will get you there just that little bit faster.
Cube is of course known for their sports bikes. The knowledge they gather there is also applied to their city bikes. The frame of this bike, for instance, is both stiff and light. The result? A smooth bike with tight handling. Thus, a cycling holiday becomes a good possibility. After all, with a bike weighing just over 15kg, you can do a lot of kilometres just fine. Fit lowriders to the front fork and you can carry even more luggage. Because this bike is designed for long and relatively smooth rides, you have an active riding position where you sit slightly forward. An unsprung seatpost and fork also ensure a smooth ride. This bike is therefore perfect for the enthusiastic world explorer, but a little less so for the touring rider who values ultimate comfort. Although, with the 55mm tyres, many bumps can still be well cushioned.

Equipped with a Gates CDN belt drive and a Shimano Nexus 8 internal hub gear, the Cube Travel Pro is an extremely low-maintenance bike. A belt drive has the advantage that it is very durable and does not suffer from dirt. As a result, this drivetrain keeps running smoothly regardless of the conditions. The Nexus 8 hub has a range of 307%, allowing you to get up hills just fine. Going into the mountains, however, is not recommended with this gear system. Going downhill with this bike, on the other hand, is no problem. Indeed, as the hydraulic disc brakes have a good amount of stopping power and are easy to dose, you will come to a smooth stop.
Suitable for everyday use
This hybrid bike is not only suitable for long rides or cycling holidays. Daily rides are also fine on this bike. With a stable carrier, lights powered by a hub dynamo and strong mudguards, you can use this bike as a city bike just fine. Prices are good at Mantel, but you (don't) get what you (don't) pay for. On collection, the rear tyre is at less than 1 bar and fitting a ring lock takes over half an hour. After 1 week of cycling, it turns out that the nuts on the rear wheel were not properly tightened, causing belt tension and indexing of the hub gear to be incorrect. Still a shame when you've just got a new bike. For craftsmanship, you'll have to go elsewhere.
